The current average of $15,466 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,109 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale upside may be more measured than in a rising market. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on condition, mileage, and service history to protect value. A well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers who want a practical, efficient compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $14,572 CAD, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $15,466 CAD average.
• It offers a roomy, practical package with strong everyday appeal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is the better all-around pick if you want a well-rounded used CR-V with strong owner satisfaction and a healthy supply of listings. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core CR-V strengths.
