Summary
With 64 currently listed for sale near Mississauga, ON and an average price of $15,398 CAD, 18.8% of 2016 Honda Accords for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2016 Honda Accord 4.38 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.83 / 10.

Why it stands out
Buying a 2016 Honda Accord is a good hedge against unanticipated expenses. Honda also made a number of improvements to the 2016 model year Accord sedan, which helped make an already popular family sedan better in several ways. In most respects, it remains a terrific automobile, and that broad appeal is a big part of what makes it distinctive.
At the same time, the car is not without flaws. The review notes that numerous small oversights remain, and together they create a steady, underlying thrum of aggravation. Even so, the overall impression is still positive, with the Accord standing out as a sensible choice for buyers who value comfort, reliability, and strong fuel economy.

The car had two bullet holes. One on the passenger side and one on the hood. It also had water spots and apparent water damage inside as evidenced by the rust to the seat tracks and numerous water stains in the seats. This car should not have been on the lot for sale.

My 2016 Honda Accord is a bad ass & a show stopper vehicle. I swear I am in love with my car aka Martha. The features such as the sport shift gears adds that Fast & Furious Vin Diesel speed and makes the drive more exciting. The paddle shifters are pretty neat and adds that tork speed as well. Honestly, the ovreally value of my car was well worth it, compared to the other sport cars I was seeking to potentially purchase. Honda was affordable and just as awesome with its features, cost and body style. I would compare my car to the BMW 4 Series. I love my Honda Accord Sport,.. And I get so man compliments on her..

2016 Honda Accord Price Trends
CarGurus tracks the prices of millions of used car listings every year. See how the average price of 2016 Honda Accord prices has changed over time.
See more price trendsHow much does the 2016 Honda Accord cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $15,975 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $15,608 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $18,656 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $18,546 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −13.86% |
Prices have softened 13.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 108 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2016 Honda Accord a good car?
Generally — 4.38/5 from owners and 6.83/10 from experts point to a car that lands well with shoppers. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.
Drivers repeatedly praise its comfort, reliability, and impressive gas mileage, and they also value the interior quality and safety features. That lines up with the Accord’s role as a sensible midsize family sedan, especially if you want a car that balances everyday practicality with a polished driving experience.
The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 27.8% of listings marked as good or great deals.
Is the 2016 Honda Accord reliable?
Owners rate it 4.38/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback highlights reliability, and the broader review language points to a car that can be counted on for dependable service over time. The expert assessment also frames it as a good hedge against unanticipated expenses, which reinforces the idea that it is built for long-term ownership rather than short-term drama.
Honda also positions the Accord as an affordable family car thanks to favourable reliability ratings and low insurance costs. Even so, you should still watch for the small quality issues and isolated defects that some owners mention, because those are the kinds of used-car risks that can turn into ownership headaches later.
What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Honda Accord?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Accord spans a wide range of equipment and budget levels, from the LX through the Sport, EX-L, and Touring variants. Base versions are more basic, while higher trims add the upscale styling and richer equipment that make the car feel more premium.
- Powertrain: Most versions use a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine, with the Sport getting a slightly stronger tune. If you want the V6, you need to shop the EX-L V6 or Touring V6, and the car is front-wheel drive only.
- Safety package: Honda Sensing is the driver-assistance suite to look for, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is standard on the Accord EX-L and Touring with both engines, and it cannot be paired with the manual transmission.
- Infotainment: The available system uses a 7-inch touchscreen and adds HondaLink connected services, Siri Eyes Free, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Every 2016 Accord also includes Bluetooth streaming audio, text-messaging support, a USB port, and Pandora access.
- Fuel efficiency: The expert review notes a combined figure of 9.4 L/100 km, while the test loop returned 9.6 L/100 km. On the open road, the Accord Touring was said to use less than 7 L/100 km at highway speeds.
Which 2016 Honda Accord trim should I buy?
The 2016 Honda Accord is offered in 6 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX-L, Touring, EX-L V6, Touring V6.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the entry point if you want the Accord’s core strengths without paying for extras. It gives you the basic sedan formula, but you’ll need to move up if you want the richer equipment and technology that define the higher trims.
- Sport: This trim adds a more athletic feel, including the stronger 189-hp version of the four-cylinder engine and larger front brakes. It suits you if you want the Accord to feel a bit sharper without jumping to the V6.
- EX-L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings a more upscale feel and also makes Honda Sensing standard. If you want a well-equipped Accord with strong safety content, this is the one to focus on.
- Touring: This is the most fully featured non-V6 choice, with the 7-inch touchscreen system, HondaLink, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the upscale exterior treatment. It suits you if you want the most polished four-cylinder Accord.
- EX-L V6: Choose this if you want the V6’s stronger passing power but do not need the full Touring treatment. It is the right middle ground for buyers who care more about performance than top-end luxury features.
- Touring V6: This is the most complete Accord in the lineup, combining the V6 with the highest equipment level. It is the trim to target if you want the strongest engine and the most premium presentation.
Honda Sensing is standard on the Accord EX-L and Touring with both engines, but you cannot combine it with the manual transmission.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Accord?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 108 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.86% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $15,608 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2016 Honda Accord's resale value?
The current average of $15,975 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,546 CAD.
That softer pricing trend suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium. If you own one now, the upside is that the Accord’s broad appeal and reputation for reliability help support steady demand.
The current price range also shows that values have settled into a more realistic band, which can reduce the risk of overpaying today. For resale, that usually means you should expect solid but not exceptional retention unless your car is especially well kept and well equipped.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.38/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2016 Honda Accord safe?
The Honda Accord earns top marks in every NHTSA and IIHS assessment except for four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection.
It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.
Honda Sensing is the key safety suite here, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is standard on the Accord EX-L and Touring with both engines, and Honda also makes it available on every version of the Accord, with the caveat that you cannot combine it with the manual transmission.
There are a couple of important gaps to keep in mind. Rear cross-traffic alert and a traditional blind-spot warning system are not part of the package, and LaneWatch only monitors the right-side blind spot rather than both sides.
Should I buy a 2016 Honda Accord or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2016 if:
- 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.86% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- Honda Sensing is available across the lineup, and the year brought meaningful improvements to the sedan.
Consider the 2015 if:
- At $14,283 CAD, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $15,975 CAD average.
- It is an exceptionally well-engineered sedan built to provide dependable service for many years.
The bottom line: The 2016 is the better pick if you want the newer model-year improvements, strong safety content, and a still-reasonable used price. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one that has been well maintained.
