Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, advanced technology, and ample interior space, and many also like the sporty performance and more luxurious feel in higher trims. What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda Accord?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is the most straightforward version, while higher trims add more upscale touches and equipment. The source also notes that some versions have missing features, so you should compare the equipment list carefully before you buy.
• Powertrain: You can find 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder and 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder setups, with the 1.5T paired to a CVT and the 2.0T paired to a 10-speed automatic. The 1.5T is efficient and still strong enough for daily use, while the 2.0T brings more power and a more energetic feel.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing comes standard and includes auto-braking, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, road departure mitigation with lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, a driver attention monitor, and a backup camera with three views. Blind-spot monitoring is standard on Touring trims, while LaneWatch is included with Sport and EX-L.
• Infotainment: Honda’s infotainment system is quick and easy to use, with a customisable home screen and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all trims in Canada. Wireless device charging is standard on Touring, and rear USB ports are standard on EX-L and Touring.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5T with CVT is rated at 7.9 L/100 km city and 6.3 L/100 km highway, while the 2.0T automatic is rated at 10.4 L/100 km city and 7.4 L/100 km highway. The manual versions are rated higher, so check the exact drivetrain and transmission if efficiency matters to you.

Which 2018 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2018 Honda Accord is offered in 6 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX-L, Touring, Sport 2.0, Touring 2.0.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the simplest entry point and makes sense if you want the Accord’s core strengths without paying for extras. It’s also one of the trims where the manual transmission is available, which may appeal if you want a more involved driving experience.
• Sport: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds a more distinctive look and includes LaneWatch, while still keeping the Accord’s practical appeal intact. If you want a good balance of equipment and price, this is the trim to focus on first.
• EX-L: This trim adds a more upscale feel and includes LaneWatch, plus rear USB ports. It suits you if you want a more comfortable, better-equipped daily driver without jumping all the way to the top end.
• Touring: This is the most feature-rich 1.5T trim, with blind-spot monitoring, wireless device charging, and rear USB ports. It’s the right pick if you want the most complete version of the standard turbo model.
• Sport 2.0: This trim gives you the stronger 2.0-litre turbo engine in a sport-oriented package. Choose it if you care more about performance and response than maximum efficiency.
• Touring 2.0: This is the most powerful and most fully equipped Accord in the lineup, combining the 2.0-litre turbo with the Touring feature set. It’s the one to buy if you want the most refined and capable version and are willing to pay for it.

Honda Sensing comes standard on every trim, while blind-spot monitoring is standard on Touring trims and LaneWatch is included with Sport and EX-L.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Accord?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 225 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,778 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $18,778 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,563 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the lower end of the range, you reduce the amount of depreciation left to absorb before resale. The Accord’s broad appeal, strong reputation, and steady demand should help it remain relatively easy to move when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord safe?

The 2018 Accord is rated a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing comes standard on every Accord and includes auto-braking, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, road departure mitigation with lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, a driver attention monitor, and a backup camera with three views. Blind-spot monitoring is standard on Touring trims, while LaneWatch is included with Sport and EX-L.

A lower headlight rating kept it from earning Top Safety Pick+ status, so lighting performance is the main caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 model is all-new, which gives it a fresher design, updated technology, and a more polished driving character than the previous generation.

The bottom line: If you want the most modern-feeling Accord in this generation and you value the all-new redesign, the 2018 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby years to see whether a slightly older Accord gives you similar practicality for less money.
