Is the 2016 GMC Acadia a good car?

Generally — the 2016 GMC Acadia is a practical family crossover that puts comfort and space ahead of flash, and its 4.33/5 user rating supports that appeal. It was designed as a roomy three-row SUV with a straightforward powertrain, and it also offers a Denali version if you want a more upscale presentation. The 2016 Acadia benefits from a straightforward setup and a comfort-first design, which can make it appealing if you want a used family SUV without a complicated ownership experience. Its strongest case is for shoppers who want a roomy crossover with a familiar V6 layout and available all-wheel drive. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that age and prior use matter a lot, so condition and maintenance history should carry extra weight.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 GMC Acadia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 60 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.67% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,447 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $12,747 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,115 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell. The current market trend points to steady demand rather than a sharp premium.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a roomy, comfort-focused three-row crossover with a straightforward V6 and the option of a more upscale Denali trim, the 2016 is the better fit. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth a look, but the 2016 remains the stronger all-around choice for shoppers who value comfort and space.
