This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 114 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,671 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $9,871 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,760 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Fusion has become more affordable for buyers, which can make it a tougher sell if you plan to trade in soon. On the other hand, a lower entry price can help keep demand steady among shoppers looking for value in a roomy midsize sedan. If you buy well now and keep the car in good condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Ford Fusion makes sense if you want a roomy, comfortable midsize sedan with a strong value proposition and you can find one priced near the lower end of the market. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2015 model may be worth a look; if you want a newer-feeling cabin and more modern features, the 2017 model is the better secondary path.
