Is the 2017 Ford Fusion a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Ford Fusion earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, comfort, and solid performance, and many also like the variety of features it offers at a good price. In practical terms, that lines up well with its role as a midsize sedan that blends sharp styling, strong road manners, and plenty of available technology. With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent share of attractive options in the market.

Is the 2017 Ford Fusion reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers highlighting comfort and solid performance alongside the car’s smooth ride. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it for everyday use, especially if you choose a well-maintained example. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car has been cared for properly, since condition matters more as these vehicles age.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Ford Fusion?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 119 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.94% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,564 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $11,638 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,535 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the good news is that a lower entry price can help keep ownership costs manageable if you buy well. The challenge is that softer pricing today can translate into a more competitive resale environment later, especially if your car has average mileage or visible wear. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want the refreshed Fusion with broad appeal, good owner satisfaction, and a market that currently favours patient shoppers. If you are more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge.
