Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Ford Escape?

It looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 415 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,351 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $9,351 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,420 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. If prices stay near this level, future resale values may remain relatively stable rather than rising sharply. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Ford Escape makes sense if you want a well-liked used SUV with a lower average price and decent deal availability. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years as well, but the 2016 is a sensible starting point when you find one in good condition and priced near the lower end of the range.
