Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 433 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.89% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,698 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $9,700 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,532 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make resale timing more important if you're planning to sell later. If prices stay soft, future sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, but the current trend still favours shoppers more than sellers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Ford Escape makes sense if you want a well-liked used SUV with solid owner feedback and a market that currently favours careful shoppers. If you're price-sensitive, this is a good year to compare listings closely and target the lower end of the range; if you want the best value, focus on well-priced examples rather than paying near the top of the market.
