• Inventory: There are 442 listings available.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 22.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a sensible choice if you want a well-liked Escape with a lower average price and decent deal availability. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, this year looks especially worth a close look; if you’re comparing across nearby years, focus on condition, service history, and whether the asking price lands near the lower end of the range.
