This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly when you find a strong one.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 433 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.08% compared with last year.

What is the 2016 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $9,820 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,842 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you're buying now, but it also means future resale upside may be more limited unless the market strengthens. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping the vehicle in strong condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used compact SUV with strong owner approval, the 2016 Ford Escape is the primary year to focus on. If you're especially price-sensitive, keep an eye on listings near the lower end of the range and compare them against nearby model years to make sure you're getting the best value for your budget.
