The overview points to a car that suits you if you want a premium sport sedan with sharp handling, strong performance, and a businesslike cabin, though it is not the roomiest option. What is the 2016 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $13,484 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,877 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means there may be less room for appreciation unless the car is especially well kept or unusually well equipped. If you buy carefully and maintain it well, you can help protect value, but the broader trend still points to a softer resale environment than a year ago.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 24.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a sensible pick if you want the 3 Series experience at a lower used price and you value a broad selection of listings. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years for the best combination of equipment and value, but the 2016 remains a strong starting point if you want a premium sport sedan with proven owner appeal.
