Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.6/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The owner feedback consistently highlights the car’s luxurious feel, impressive performance, and attractive design, along with appreciation for its power and technology features. For you, that makes it a compelling choice if you want a compact luxury car with a premium cabin and a strong road presence. With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value to be found if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers enjoy living with, especially when it comes to its upscale feel and performance. At the same time, reliability concerns tend to centre on electrical issues and infotainment or display-screen problems, so you should pay close attention to those systems during a used-car inspection. For long-term ownership, that means the right example can be rewarding, but a thorough pre-purchase check matters.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting deep scarcity.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 231 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.76% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,139 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class's resale value?

The current average of $18,155 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,299 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the softer current pricing means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Well-kept examples should still attract interest, but you should expect buyers to be selective.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $23,419 CAD, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $18,155 CAD average.
• It keeps the same formula with a more refined, familiar luxury-sedan character.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2016 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and history. If you want to spend more for a newer example and prefer the next model year’s familiar refinement, the 2017 is the secondary path.
