There are 123 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the market.

Is the 2016 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Acura MDX earns a 5/5 user rating, which is a strong sign that owners are very satisfied with it. Owners consistently praise the comfortable ride, effective safety features, and spacious interior, and many also value its overall performance and family-friendly usefulness. That lines up well with its role as a three-row luxury SUV for buyers who want comfort, practicality, and a strong feature set. With 28.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free for many shoppers, with strong praise for comfort, safety, and overall ownership experience. The main caution from owners is transmission shifting behaviour, so that is worth checking closely on any used example you consider. For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk looks manageable if the vehicle has been maintained properly and drives smoothly on a test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 123 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.63% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,323 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $16,325 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,582 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make the MDX more attractive to you as a buyer today but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay under pressure. Even so, the model’s broad appeal as a comfortable, practical three-row luxury SUV should help it remain relevant in the used market. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 MDX is a strong choice if you want a well-equipped three-row luxury SUV with solid owner satisfaction and a softer used-market price. If you are shopping mainly for value, the 2016 is the better path to consider first; if you want to compare pricing and features across nearby years, a different model year may be worth a look, especially if you are trying to balance budget against inventory and condition.
