How much does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have softened 5.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 198 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice if you’re comparing trims and condition.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, good handling, and comfortable ride, which makes it a strong fit if you want a compact SUV that works well for city commuting and highway use. The overview also points to practical cargo space and good fuel economy, while the expert summary notes that it remains appealing for buyers who value Toyota’s sensible all-rounder approach.

With 24.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as reliable and trouble-free, and the expert assessment says both Consumer Reports and J.D. Power rate it highly for dependability, quality, and reliability. The performance notes reinforce that impression by describing the drivetrain as peppy and refined, while the cost-effectiveness section says trouble is unlikely to find the RAV4.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well, since higher-mileage examples may show the usual wear that comes with everyday family use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE, XLE, and Limited each bring different equipment levels, and the base LE is the one most likely to leave you wanting more. The XLE adds a rear-view camera, while the Limited gets standard AWD and can be paired with the Technology Package for more advanced safety equipment.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 176 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It is described as peppy and refined, but also a bit underpowered when you ask for hard acceleration.
• Safety package: The available Technology Package on the Limited trim adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, upgraded JBL audio, voice recognition, and automatic high beams. Some of the most desirable safety features are restricted to the top trim.
• Infotainment: The RAV4 can be equipped with an Entune premium audio system and navigation, but the touchscreen is only 6.1 inches and the interface can be frustrating to use. Bluetooth is standard, and the system also offers HD Radio plus traffic and weather information.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert notes an estimated fuel consumption of 9.5 L/100 km in combined driving, with 8.9 L/100 km for FWD and 9.6 L/100 km for the Limited. In testing, it returned 9.0 L/100 km.

Which 2015 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, but it is also the trim most likely to feel sparse if you want more convenience and safety equipment. It makes sense if your priority is keeping the purchase price down and you are comfortable with a simpler setup.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds useful everyday equipment, including the rear-view camera, while staying below the top trim’s price. If you want the most balanced mix of features and value, this is the one to focus on.
• Limited: This is the trim to choose if you want the most equipment and the standard AWD setup. It is also the only trim that can get the Technology Package, which adds the most advanced safety features in the lineup.

For safety-minded shoppers, the Technology Package is limited to the Limited trim, so you will need to shop at the top of the range if those features matter most.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare examples without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 198 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.30% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,557 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $15,878 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,768 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a little more buyer-friendly, which can work against a future seller if you are hoping for a quick premium. At the same time, the RAV4’s strong reputation for reliability and practicality helps support steady demand, especially among shoppers who want a sensible compact SUV rather than something flashy.

If prices continue to ease, resale values may stay under pressure in the near term. Even so, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than less trusted rivals because the RAV4’s reputation still carries weight with used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a four-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA, with a three-star protection rating for the front passenger in the frontal-impact assessment.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The RAV4 includes a rear-view camera on the XLE and Limited trims, while the LE gets it only as an option. More advanced driver-assistance features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are reserved for the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim.

The main caveat is that Toyota’s Safety Connect telematics technology is missing altogether, and the NHTSA result shows a weaker front-passenger frontal-impact rating than the overall score.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Improved crash-test ratings definitely elevate this year’s standing, and the expert summary says loyal Toyota fans likely wouldn’t imagine choosing any other model in the class.

The bottom line: The 2015 RAV4 makes sense if you want a dependable, practical compact SUV with strong owner satisfaction and a softer used-market price than last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is worth shopping carefully for a well-kept example near the low end of the range; if you want the most advanced safety equipment, you may want to look at a different year or a higher trim.
