How much does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have softened 6.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 208 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — with a 4.88/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating, the 2015 Toyota RAV4 comes across as a well-liked compact SUV that fits everyday family and commuting duties well. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

Owners repeatedly praise its reliability, spaciousness, good handling, and comfortable ride, which lines up with the RAV4’s practical, pack-anything character. The overview also points to a compact SUV that is useful without feeling dull, especially if you want something sensible for city and highway driving. It is less compelling if you want excitement, but that is not the point here.

Good and great deals account for 22.1% of listings, so there is still some room to find a worthwhile example.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary highlights reliability, and it also points to a vehicle that feels dependable, spacious, and efficient enough to suit daily use without drama. The expert cost-effectiveness notes reinforce that trouble is unlikely to find the RAV4, with strong dependability and reliability marks from major evaluators.

That said, used buyers should still watch for signs of age-related wear, especially on higher-mileage examples, because even a strong reputation does not eliminate maintenance risk over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE, XLE, and Limited trims differ mainly in equipment and convenience. The LE is the simplest version, while the XLE adds more comfort and tech, and the Limited brings the most upscale feel. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps, especially if you want more than the essentials.
• Powertrain: Every RAV4 uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 176 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It is peppy and refined, but it can feel a bit underpowered from a standstill.
• Safety package: The XLE and Limited include a rear-view camera, while the LE gets one only as an option. More advanced driver aids such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are tied to the optional Technology Package on the Limited.
• Infotainment: The RAV4 can be equipped with a 6.1-inch touchscreen and Entune smartphone apps, but the system is not especially easy to use. Bluetooth is standard, and the setup can include navigation, HD Radio, and traffic and weather information.
• Fuel efficiency: The RAV4 is rated at 9.5 L/100 km in combined driving, with 8.9 L/100 km for FWD and 9.6 L/100 km for the Limited. In testing, it returned 9.0 L/100 km.

Which 2015 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the RAV4 nameplate and do not mind a simpler equipment list. It is the trim to consider if value matters most and you are comfortable adding only the options you truly need.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more complete mix of everyday convenience and equipment without jumping all the way to the top model. It is also the trim that best balances price and features if you want a used RAV4 that feels well equipped.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the most content and are willing to pay for it. It is the only trim with standard AWD, and it is the one that can be paired with the Technology Package for the most advanced safety features.

For safety equipment, the rear-view camera is standard on XLE and Limited, while the Technology Package is reserved for the Limited.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have some leverage if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 22.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 208 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.20% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,564 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $15,748 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,788 CAD.

That softer pricing trend suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, which can make resale planning more important if you are thinking ahead to your next vehicle. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher.

For a future seller, the key is that the RAV4 still benefits from strong reputation and broad shopper appeal. A practical compact SUV with good owner satisfaction tends to stay relevant in the used market, especially when it has a reputation for reliability and low running costs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2015 RAV4 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and it receives a four-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA; it also gets a three-star protection rating for the front passenger in the frontal-impact assessment.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The RAV4 includes a rear-view camera on the XLE and Limited, with the camera optional on the LE. More advanced safety tech such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning is bundled into the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim. Toyota’s Safety Connect telematics system is not available on this model, and active cruise control and active braking are unavailable regardless of trim.

The main caveat is that the NHTSA result includes a lower three-star rating for the front passenger in frontal impact testing, so safety-conscious used buyers should pay close attention to trim and equipment when shopping.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 22.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Improved crash-test ratings help strengthen this year’s appeal, especially if you want a practical compact SUV with a solid reputation.

The bottom line: The 2015 RAV4 is a sensible choice if you want a dependable, spacious compact SUV and you value proven ownership appeal over flash. If you are price-sensitive, this year’s softer pricing makes it worth a close look; if you want more advanced safety and tech, you may also want to compare it with a newer model year.
