There are 212 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and impressive fuel economy, while also calling out its comfortable ride and good handling. That lines up with the overview: you get a practical compact SUV that works well for city and highway driving without feeling dull. Even so, the RAV4’s plain personality and limited feature set mean it is best suited to you if practicality matters more than excitement. 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and the review summary also highlights the RAV4’s trouble-free reputation, dependable nature, and strong long-term appeal. The expert assessment reinforces that view by noting that trouble is unlikely to find the RAV4 and that it rates highly for dependability, quality, and reliability. That said, as a used buyer, you should still watch for signs of deferred maintenance, especially on higher-mileage examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE, XLE, and Limited trims differ in equipment, and the base LE is the one most likely to leave you wanting more. The XLE adds a rear-view camera, while the Limited is the only trim that can get the optional Technology Package with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, upgraded JBL audio, voice recognition, and automatic high beams.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 176 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission. It is peppy and refined, but it can feel a bit underpowered from a standstill, so make sure the way it drives suits your expectations.
• Safety package: The RAV4 includes a rear-view camera on the XLE and Limited, while the LE gets it only as an option. The optional Technology Package is limited to the Limited trim, and active cruise control and active braking are not offered.
• Infotainment: The available Entune setup uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen, and Bluetooth is standard. The system can be frustrating to use because of tiny buttons and occasional touchscreen glitches, so test it carefully.
• Fuel efficiency: The RAV4 is rated at 9.5 L/100 km in combined driving, or 8.9 L/100 km with FWD and 9.6 L/100 km for the Limited.

Which 2015 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, but it is the most stripped-down choice and is the one most likely to feel light on features. It makes sense only if you are focused on keeping the purchase price down and are comfortable adding fewer conveniences.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds useful everyday equipment, including the rear-view camera, while still staying below the top trim. If you want the most balanced mix of price and features, this is the one to target.
• Limited: This is the trim to choose if you want the most equipment and the option to add the Technology Package. It is the only trim that can get the most advanced safety and convenience features, but you will pay more for that flexibility.

The safety-package upgrades are concentrated on the Limited trim, so if those features matter to you, start there.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 212 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.33% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,562 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $15,743 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,629 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a plus if you are buying now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless the market tightens again. For a seller, the current trend suggests you may need to price competitively to move the vehicle quickly. The RAV4’s strong reputation for reliability and practicality should still help it hold buyer interest better than many less established rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a four-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA, with a three-star protection rating for the front passenger in the frontal-impact assessment.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The RAV4 includes a rear-view camera on the XLE and Limited trims, while the LE gets it only as an option. More advanced driver-assistance features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are bundled into the optional Technology Package, which is available only on the Limited trim. Active cruise control and active braking are not available, and Safety Connect is missing altogether. The main caveat is that the RAV4’s NHTSA results are not class-leading, so if safety tech is a top priority, you will want to focus on the Limited with the available package.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Improved crash-test ratings help this year stand out more than earlier versions.

The bottom line: The 2015 RAV4 makes sense if you want a practical, reliable compact SUV with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, this year is worth a close look; if you want more advanced safety tech, a newer model year may be the better path.

How does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 compare to the 2015 Honda CR-V?

Our experts score the 2015 Toyota RAV4 7.3/10 and the 2015 Honda CR-V 8.5/10. The CR-V comes out ahead overall, especially if you value a stronger blend of refinement and practicality. The RAV4 still makes a solid case with its spacious cargo area, good fuel economy, and strong reliability reputation, but it is less engaging and less feature-rich than the Honda. If you want the better all-around compact SUV, the CR-V is the safer bet; if you prefer Toyota durability and a slightly lower average used price, the RAV4 remains appealing.
