CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Lexus RX
Summary
With 12 currently listed for sale and an average price of $23,554 CAD, 16.7% of 2015 Lexus RX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Lexus RX 4.68 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Lexus RX stands out as a luxury SUV that prioritises comfort, refinement, and long-term dependability over flashier ambitions. By this generation, the RX had grown larger and more polished, with a more upright dashboard design, improved materials, and more passenger space in both rows. It also kept the practical strengths that helped make the RX such a success in the first place: strong resale values, a reputation for reliability, and standard all-wheel drive in Canada across the lineup.
For 2015, the RX’s appeal also came from the equipment it had accumulated over the years. Lexus Safety Sense became standard in 2017, so that does not apply here, but this model year still benefited from features such as keyless entry and ignition, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, and available items like a navigation system, a Mark Levinson premium audio system, ventilated front seats, and a power liftgate. The RX 350 used a 3.5-litre V6 with 275 hp and 257 lb-ft of torque, while the hybrid RX 450h delivered 295 hp. Fuel economy was also respectable for the class, with the RX 350 estimated at 11.1 to 11.7 L/100 km combined depending on model year and equipment, and the RX 400h hybrid at 7.9 to 8.2 L/100 km combined.
There are trade-offs, though. The RX was never the most athletic choice, and its focus remained on comfort rather than sharp handling. It also was not as strong for towing or off-road use as some rivals, and the third-generation model’s rear-seat headroom was reduced compared with the previous generation. Even so, for buyers who want a quiet, comfortable, and durable luxury SUV, the 2015 Lexus RX remains an easy one to understand and a hard one to dismiss.

The lexus RX is a wonderful vehicle, it drives great. Feels extremely safe on the road. Comfortable quiet beautiful car. I had one previously and regretted getting rid of it. Ive driven many vehicles, Jeeps, minivans, and trucks. The RX is probably the most pleasurable to be in long distance or short, just a great vehicle.

This SUV is great, the value was really good. It was kept by the previous owner for it to be five years old. It was in excellent condition. So many features, I havent learn them all, but overall I am totally pleased. My previous vehicle was 17 years old so this was a grandstand, fantastic investment for me!

Is the 2015 Lexus RX a good car?
Yes — 4.68/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. Drivers consistently praise its comfort, reliability, and solid performance, and many also like the luxurious interior and smooth ride. That lines up well with the RX’s role as a comfortable, refined luxury SUV for buyers who value long-term dependability and everyday ease over flashier ambitions. With 30.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Lexus RX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.68/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback points to reliability, dependability, and trouble-free ownership as major strengths, which fits the RX’s reputation for long-term durability. For used buyers, that usually means lower ownership risk than many luxury SUVs, especially if you choose a well-maintained example with a clean service history.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Lexus RX?

What is the 2015 Lexus RX's resale value?
The current average of $22,290 CAD sits slightly above last year's $21,840 CAD.
That upward move suggests the market still sees value in this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy now and keep the vehicle in good condition. The relatively tight spread between the year-round low and high also points to stable pricing rather than a volatile market. If you plan to sell later, a well-kept RX should remain appealing to shoppers who want a comfortable luxury SUV with a strong reputation.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.68/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2015 Lexus RX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices are up 2.06% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.68/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, refined luxury SUV with strong owner satisfaction and a solid market position, the 2015 RX is the primary year to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
