Is the 2015 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10. Owners repeatedly praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, user-friendly design, smooth ride, and spacious interior, which fits the Civic’s role as an economical daily driver for commuters and first-time buyers. It is also described as a car that meets and exceeds small-car buyer preferences for reliability and quality, while the cost-effectiveness commentary points to inexpensive ownership and strong value retention. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some examples may feel dated or under-equipped compared with newer rivals, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base DX and LX trims are the most affordable, while the EX adds more equipment such as the touchscreen infotainment system, heated front seats, automatic climate control, LaneWatch, keyless entry, push-button start, a power sunroof, automatic headlights, and alloy wheels.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine with 143 horsepower and front-wheel drive. A five-speed manual is standard on DX, LX, and EX grades, with the CVT optional on LX and EX and standard on Touring.
• Safety package: The Civic includes a backup camera on all trims but the base DX. LaneWatch is standard on all but the DX and LX trims.
• Infotainment: The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with HondaLink smartphone connectivity and services appears beyond the LX trim. Bluetooth calling and text messaging are standard on every 2015 Civic.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada states combined fuel consumption of 7.2 L/100 km, and the road test average was 7.4 L/100 km.

Which 2015 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2015 Honda Civic is offered in 5 trim levels: DX, LX, EX, Touring, and Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• DX: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost Civic, but it misses some convenience and safety equipment found higher up the range.
• LX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability while staying close to the affordable end of the lineup.
• EX: This is the sweet spot if you want the touchscreen infotainment system, HondaLink, heated front seats, automatic climate control, LaneWatch, keyless entry, push-button start, and a sunroof.
• Touring: Choose this if you want the most comfort and convenience equipment in the mainstream Civic lineup.
• Civic Si: This is the performance-focused choice for drivers who want the most fun behind the wheel.

The backup camera is standard on all trims but the base DX, and LaneWatch is standard on all but the DX and LX trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 399 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,969 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $12,097 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,574 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a little more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for sellers to command top dollar right away. If you are planning to sell later, the current trend points to a model that still has broad appeal, but one where pricing discipline matters. Strong owner satisfaction and a reputation for reliability should help support demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Honda Civic safe?

The 2015 Honda Civic earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a five-star overall crash-test safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Civic comes with a backup camera standard on all trims but the base DX, and HondaLink Assist is also part of the safety story when paired and activated. LaneWatch is standard on all but the DX and LX trims, using a passenger-side mirror camera to show the right side of the car on the touchscreen display. The main caveat is that LaneWatch is not a traditional blind-spot monitoring system, so it can add another step to lane changes rather than simplifying them.

Should I buy a 2015 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out for reliability, safety, fuel efficiency, quality, and value.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $11,395 CAD, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,097 CAD average.
• It feels more refined and capable than its price point suggests.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,946 CAD, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,097 CAD average.
• It brings a bold new design with stronger refinement and build quality.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of value, reliability, and broad appeal, the 2015 is the safest all-round choice. If price is your top priority, the 2014 is the cheaper route; if you want a newer-feeling Civic and can spend more, the 2016 is the upgrade path.

How does the 2015 Honda Civic compare to the 2015 Toyota Corolla?

Our experts score the 2015 Honda Civic 8.7/10 and the 2015 Toyota Corolla 6.2/10. The Civic comes across as the more complete compact car, with stronger overall value, more listings, and a better expert score. The Corolla is slightly more fuel-efficient on the highway and has a similar deal share, but the Civic’s broader appeal and stronger owner satisfaction make it the more compelling used buy for most shoppers.
