CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Acura TLX
Summary
With 50 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,331 CAD, 30.0% of 2015 Acura TLX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Acura TLX 4.7 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Acura TLX stands out as Acura’s attempt to replace both the TSX and TL with a single sport sedan that split the difference in size between them. That positioning gave it a broader mission than many rivals, and it was also notable for being offered only with automatic transmissions rather than a manual. For buyers, that made the TLX feel like a more modern, easy-to-live-with luxury sedan, especially if they wanted a premium four-door without stepping up to a larger car.
What makes the 2015 model especially distinctive is its mix of hardware. It came with either a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine or a 3.5-litre V6, and the base four-cylinder used an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic while the V6 was paired with a nine-speed automatic. The base trim also included features such as four-wheel steering, LED headlights and brake lights, a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a two-screen infotainment layout. The optional Technology Package added leather seating surfaces, navigation, and an ELS premium audio system, while the Elite Package for V6 models brought extras such as parking sensors, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic braking.
There are also clear reasons to shop carefully. The 2015 Acura TLX is widely regarded as the weakest first-generation year because many owners complained about the nine-speed automatic transmission. Even so, it still appeals to used buyers who want a comfortable, well-equipped luxury sedan with strong safety content and a reputation for good value. The user feedback also reflects that appeal, with praise for its comfortable ride, powerful engine, and safety features, alongside criticism of acceleration and some missing modern amenities.

I just bought a 2015 TLX V6 SH-AWD W/Technology package and it has all the features and power but I personally liked the TLX 4 cylinder model better, its a bit smaller and way better on gas mileage and its a bit funner to drive. But they are both really great cars especially for the price!

How much does the 2015 Acura TLX cost?

| Current Average Price | $12,265 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $12,265 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $15,072 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $14,949 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −17.95% |
Prices have softened 17.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 50 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the used market.
Is the 2015 Acura TLX a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Acura TLX earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its comfortable ride, powerful engine, and extensive safety features. For you, that makes it a compelling option if you want a premium sedan that balances luxury and affordability, especially if you value an easy-to-live-with daily driver. With 32% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Acura TLX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Drivers describe it as dependable in the sense that it delivers a comfortable, well-equipped ownership experience, and the feedback highlights a strong reputation for long-term value. The same owner comments also point to some concerns around acceleration and missing modern amenities, so you should weigh those against the car’s strengths. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, so a careful inspection and service-history review matter.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Acura TLX?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage but should still focus on the best examples.
- Deal availability: 32% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 50 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.95% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $12,265 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Acura TLX's resale value?
The current average of $12,265 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,949 CAD.
That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you keep the car in strong condition and maintain it well, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2015 Acura TLX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 32% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.95% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: You should consider the 2015 Acura TLX if you want a well-equipped luxury sedan and can find one with a clean history at a competitive price. If you are especially price-sensitive, it also makes sense to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone.
