CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Acura TLX
Summary
With 52 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,700 CAD, 25.0% of 2015 Acura TLX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Acura TLX 4.73 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Acura TLX stands out as Acura’s attempt to replace both the TSX and TL with a single sport sedan that split the difference in size between them. That positioning gave it a broader mission than many rivals, and it was aimed at shoppers who wanted a premium sedan with a more traditional car feel at a time when crossovers were taking over showrooms. It was also notable for being offered only with automatic transmissions, which marked a clear break from the manual-equipped sedans Acura had sold before.
What makes the 2015 TLX especially distinctive is its unusual mix of hardware. The base model used a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, while the available 3.5-litre V6 was paired with a nine-speed automatic and could be ordered with SH-AWD. The base trim also included four-wheel steering, LED headlights and brake lights, a sunroof, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a two-screen infotainment layout with an eight-inch upper display and a seven-inch centre display. Those features gave the TLX a strong equipment list for the class, and the car’s blend of comfort, safety technology, and value is a big part of its appeal.
At the same time, the 2015 TLX is remembered for one major weakness: the nine-speed automatic transmission drew a lot of complaints. That issue is the main reason this model year is often treated cautiously by used-car shoppers. Even so, buyers who prioritise a comfortable ride, a well-equipped cabin, and a premium badge at a relatively accessible price may still find the 2015 Acura TLX appealing, especially if they focus on the four-cylinder version.

I just bought a 2015 TLX V6 SH-AWD W/Technology package and it has all the features and power but I personally liked the TLX 4 cylinder model better, its a bit smaller and way better on gas mileage and its a bit funner to drive. But they are both really great cars especially for the price!

How much does the 2015 Acura TLX cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $12,731 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $12,626 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $15,060 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $14,355 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −11.31% |
Prices have softened 11.31% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 53 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2015 Acura TLX a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Acura TLX earns a 4.73/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its comfortable ride, luxury-and-affordability balance, and extensive safety features. It also fits well if you want a premium sedan with a more traditional car feel and a well-equipped cabin. With 26.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.
Is the 2015 Acura TLX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Reviewers describe it as a car they can count on for a comfortable, dependable ownership experience, especially when they value its blend of luxury and practicality. The strongest praise centres on its solid everyday usability and the sense that it can serve as a long-term premium commuter. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that you should be selective about condition and maintenance history so you can avoid expensive surprises.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Acura TLX?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the best-priced examples.
- Deal availability: 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 53 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.31% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $12,626 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Acura TLX's resale value?
The current average of $12,731 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,355 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also suggests future sellers may face more competition when it comes time to list. If the market stays value-focused, resale performance will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. A well-kept example should still attract interest from shoppers looking for a premium sedan at a more accessible price point.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2015 Acura TLX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.31% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the lowest entry price into the TLX lineup and you value a comfortable, well-equipped premium sedan, the 2015 can make sense. If you're especially price-sensitive, focus on the best-maintained examples and be ready to compare closely against other nearby model years for the right mix of condition and value.
