Kia did a great job with this car. Its handling smoothly on ice/snow, has the best brakes i've had on a car, it get great gas mileage averaging 30 in the city and 40 on the highway. Its has a lifetime power train warranty with the dealership. It has a very spacious trunk as well.

The car is a good, perhaps, great value. It runs well, is comfortable, is not noisy. The radio is acceptable quality but not great. The controls for everything are easy. It is a bit of a tin can. You can hear the lightweightness when you slam a door or pop the hood. But this is probably how it gets good gas mileage. The clear cut on mine is starting to bubble in small places; however, it does not have rust that I can detect on the body. Overall, Im happy with it.

How much does the 2014 Kia Forte cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $7,269 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $6,976 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $8,285 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $8,126 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −10.55% |
Prices have softened 10.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 64 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the used market.
Is the 2014 Kia Forte a good car?
Yes — the 2014 Kia Forte earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner approval. Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and comfort, and many also like its practical mileage and spacious trunk. It is often recommended as a great first car, though some owners note a lightweight feel that can bring more noise and a sense of fragility. With 18.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Kia Forte reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback highlights reliability, and the repeated mentions of dependable day-to-day use and trouble-free ownership are encouraging if you want a car you can count on. That said, used-car reliability always depends on maintenance history, so a careful inspection and service-record review matter. For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is buying a neglected example rather than the model itself.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Kia Forte?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 18.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 64 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.55% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $6,976 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Kia Forte's resale value?
The current average of $7,269 CAD sits slightly below last year's $8,126 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The current market range still leaves room for value retention if the car is well maintained and presented cleanly. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2014 Kia Forte or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 18.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.55% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a used compact car with strong owner satisfaction, good value, and a market that has eased from last year, the 2014 Kia Forte is a sensible primary choice. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, keep an eye out for listings near the lower end of the range and compare them carefully against similarly priced alternatives.
