Is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee is a mixed but appealing choice if you value comfort, style, and equipment over outright performance. It earns a 3.9/5 user rating, and owners commonly praise its comfort, stylish design, and good features, especially in higher trims.

The Cherokee’s appeal is strongest if you want a compact SUV with a more distinctive look and a useful set of features for the money. The overview also points to all-weather traction and a sense of adventure as part of its draw, which fits shoppers who want something more characterful than a typical crossover.

At the same time, recurring owner feedback also mentions sluggish four-cylinder performance and some concerns about reliability and feature quality. Even so, 18.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee offers a lot of equipment for the money, especially in higher trims, and owners often describe it as comfortable and well appointed. The user review summary also points to it as a reliable choice for buyers who value comfort and interior quality.

That said, the same owner feedback also mentions reported reliability problems and concerns about certain features, so you should approach used examples carefully. For long-term ownership, a thorough inspection and service-history review matter because early-model issues can affect how trouble-free the vehicle feels over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile examples.

• Deal availability: 18.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 151 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,385 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $9,544 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,116 CAD.

For a future seller, that means the market has already adjusted downward, so you may not see the same pricing strength that was available a year ago. If you buy now, your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim, especially because shoppers are still weighing value against the Cherokee’s mixed reputation.

Should I buy a 2014 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 18.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.14% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2014 Cherokee makes sense if you want the distinctive styling, available Jeep hardware, and a used price that has come down meaningfully. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the cheapest listing.
