Here's the short version:

• DX: This is the most affordable way into the Civic, but it is very bare-bones and only comes with a five-speed manual transmission.

• EX: Choose this if you want a stronger mix of convenience and technology, including keyless entry, push-button ignition, HondaLink, and the 7-inch display.
• Touring: This is the most upscale Civic sedan here, with leather seats, a power driver’s seat, navigation, satellite radio, and a reversing camera.
• Si: Pick this if you want the sportier setup, including a revised suspension and larger wheels.
• Hybrid: This is the efficiency-focused choice, though it is noted as a carry-over model and only available by special order.

That softer pricing suggests the Civic is currently a buyer-friendly used car, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. Should I buy a 2014 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 21.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 stands out for refinement, strong value, and a well-rounded mix of safety, efficiency, and technology.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,255 CAD, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,236 CAD average.
• It focuses on reliability, safety, fuel efficiency, quality, and value with a more broadly satisfying everyday character.

The bottom line: If you want the better-value buy, the 2014 is the stronger starting point because prices have eased and owner satisfaction remains high. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2015 is the safer alternative for shoppers who want a slightly fresher used Civic.
