Anyone with the same issue?

Asked by Jose Feb 19, 2020 at 03:45 PM about the 2012 Chevrolet Traverse 2LT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I just replaced the timing chain, guides and
tensioner on my 2012 Chevy Traverse. I changed
the spark plugs and plugged everything where it
went. Now the vehicle won’t crank. I checked all
the fuses and they are good. Even the ECM1, I
jumper the starter relay and it cranks but not with
the key. It gives me the code that communication
error to the ECM. It has the stability control light on
and the check engine on. The fuel gauge does not
mark any fuel. It’s shows empty and there is fuel on
the tank. I have the battery charging over night so
no battery issues either. Anyone might know what’s
is going on?

You may want to check all the ground wires to the engine and firewall. After all that work you may have just overlooked it

When replacing the chain, did you make sure the alignment marks were correct?

I have checked all grounds and they all are connected. There is power going to the ECM. And alignment on the timing chains was done to specifications on vehicle. Not really sure what can it be to not start the vehicle.

The ignition through the bcm to the ecu to the starter relay to the solinoid/ starter... also the tcm communicates with the ecu to let it know if it is in park or neutral.. all must be communicating but these are the main components and fuse to check out
