S320 compression issue hard start

my car guy says the hard start is due to a compression issue, timing belt? or ? After it finally starts it will start right up . leaving it for 4+ hours and the hard start problem persists. new battery.

it was bad gas... car had been sitting for a year and I used the TECHRON fuel additive 2x with low gas in the tank drove it hard and burned out the congestion. starts right up. Mercedes tech told me that trick. worked for me saved untold $$thanks
