Iconic sports car. Great performance. Left-handed key insertion is quirky; I would like keyless entry and start, but thats a minor issue.Oct 22, 2022

The 2005 Porsche 911 Carerra S Chrono sport package with tiptronic is an amazing ride. Normal mode feels luxurious and smooth, like a symphony is playing while you drive. However if you want power and are in the mood to move aggressively, click the sport mode button and you are on a whole new level of sport performance. The ride is exhilarating, and acceleration is second to none. Ill never drive anything but a Porsche again. Highly recommend for the sports car enthusiast. Feb 02, 2022

The 997.2 is a great car. The motor was bumped up to a 3.8 and 2009 was the first year of the PDK transmission, a wonderful upgrade plus no more IMS issues. Again, a marvelous car for the money.Jan 30, 2021

This is a spectacular sports car that is also practical enough that it can be driven everyday. The only downside is the expensive maintenance. Aug 23, 2020

This car is such high quality that driving, handling and braking is graceful and flawless. Only once did I get caught in a unexpected rainstorm and it handled just remarkably, more than I expected. This car is a head turner, always getting stopped in parking lots asking about it. This car comes with no negatives- just pure awesome!Apr 09, 2015

I have enjoyed this car on a 12 hour trip, daily errands and on the race track. The total driving experience is such a great balance from the steering feel, brake feel, exhaust noise and great engine. If you have a short list of cars including m3's, 370's, etc - drive them all and the porsche will make sense why its the best enthusiast choice. The only competition is porsche's own cayman/boxster which are a screaming deal. Jan 21, 2015

Love driving the car, sometimes forget how powerful it is until I get a chance to find some open road. Get compliments on the car every I go in it. Great car with a wonderful sound system in it with 13 speakers, sounds like your in the middle of the band. I have not done any track days in it but I bet it would be a lot of fun to do!!Nov 15, 2014

This is an amazing car, which is very forgiving to beginner drivers, and very rewarding for advanced ones. It is also very easy to drive it in the city.
As a passionate driving, I particularly enjoy the manual gear box (manual transmission)Sep 24, 2014

I've owned several different brands of high-powered sports cars and keep coming back to Porsche. I've owned three, all cabriolets, and all with manual transmissions. I don't drive my 2010 every day, but when I need to really DRIVE somewhere--and the roads are interesting--I click the garage door opener and naturally gravitate to the 911. It's pure joy. In my view, the 2009-2012 911 (997 Generation 2) has the best combination of shift feel, clutch take-up, steering feedback, "right there" brakes, handling dynamics, engine note, seating position and ergonomics of any road car. You literally become "one with the car" (and I'm not being ironic, hyperbolic or intentionally naff). Take one for a test drive and you'll immediately see why people keep buying Porsches over the more sexily designed, yet somehow more brittle and less rewarding competition. If you don't own one and have wondered why Porsche drivers often wear a goofy grin and/or a smug expression, it's not because we're self-satisfied egotists or poseurs... we're just having a blast (thank you very much!).Sep 02, 2014

This car is such a thrill to drive. A true feast for the senses. It challenges you to drive it well and punishes you when you don't, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I sold my 86 911 Targa and 04 C4S Cab in order to acquire this car, and am not disappointed at all. It is what I was looking for all along. Go GT3 if you can!Mar 19, 2014

Looks and drive ability are the main features I was looking for! Fun to drive and safe, and thanks to the AWD, I can handle it. Braking is terrific. Acceleration is out of this world, and you feel locked to the road surface.Oct 25, 2013

I love this car it truely is a work of art, great horsepower, handeling, brakes, styling, and build quality. The AWD and twin turbo charged flat six are incredible.
If your reading this stop and go get one, provided you have the funds!Jul 31, 2013

I wanted to try out a 2WD 911 so I switched from a 996 Turbo to a 997 Carrera S with PASM. I must say, the PASM is phenomenal. I never seen or felt an electronic system that makes an instantaneous and very noticeable difference in how the car handles and responds to the throttle...it's awesome. In "normal" mode the car eats up bumps and handles plushly but still quickly. In "Sport" mode, you feel every crevice and crack in the road the instant you push the button, and I mean the instant, it's very noticeable. This system gives you the best of both worlds. The 2WD car handles a lot better than the AWD Turbo too. It doesn't understeer as bad on corner entry and in fact it seems to apply a brake to the inside rear wheel which pulls the front of the car exactly were you want it to go...really cool. It has an amazing amount of corner exit grip too. And it sounds awesome on full song north of 5,000 Rpms....(not as good as a GT3, but better than a Turbo). A really fun car that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to maintain either. People have this false idea that Porsche parts cost some ridiculous amount of money. They really dont. Some things you expect to be expensive aren't and some things you think would be reasonable aren't (like the ash tray). Definitely cheaper than my old BMW. Feb 28, 2013

you will never feel what is driving, till you drive a Carrera, totally different feelings, the acceleration will take your breath away, the handling is more than amazing, you will feel you and the Carrera is one unit performing.
it is not only about driving, but it is still a car, very reliable, has excellent build quality, and turning head look inside and outside, a comfortable Supercar which you can use it everyday, fuel consumption is almost the same or less the 2.0 L with turbo charge cars.
Carrera is fun to drive and proud to own. always remember, with Carrera, every ride, is same as a first ride.Oct 26, 2011

The Porsche GT 3 is as close to the perfict driving machine as one could imagine. Mine is extremely well optioned, has been trouble free, and looks great, sounds great, and most of all, is a kick to drive. No complaints and all praise.Sep 05, 2011

More power, higher performance, faster lap times. Top track speed 193 mph. 0-60; 3.8 seconds. Powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six displacement and VarioCam timing. 450 hp at 7,900 rpm. Max torque at 317lb.-ft at 6,750 rpm. Max revs at 8,500 rpm. It has absolutely no problems with it because My Love knows his Porsches. ;) It's good to race all day everyday.Dec 13, 2010

Imagine a car that offers the performance of a 300,000$ supercar for only 125,000$, that is
the Porsche 997 Turbo. It has a 0-60 of only 3.5 seconds and a top speed of just under 200
mph. Plus it is all wheel drive and one of the easiest supercars to drive, talk about an everyday
supercar.Apr 11, 2008

Full options and much more comfortable than previous model
The engine is just amazing .... I feel like my 997 CARRERA (normal) was very slow!
The "Over-boost" option is a must and makes you feel you are driving a plane!

This car is absolutely amazing. My uncle has let me drive it a few times, and I absolutely love it. Driving through Los Gatos mid-afternoon with the top down in this thing is one of life's best. The shifting is smooth, the steering is perfect, the feel of the car is absolutely brilliant. I drove this car over highway 17 and had the opportunity to punch it around a few slowpokes, and it was the most incredible feeling in the world! If you have the means, i highly recommend one.Jan 11, 2008
