I love everything about this car. The black paint, horizontal opposed 6 is a great motor. Porsche always does a great job with their cars. They are reliable and fun. When I open my garage doors every morning I get all excited. PORSCHE BABYFeb 13, 2015

I love everything about this car. It's the Porsche that comes to mind when thinking about Porsche cars. Bullet-proof air-cooled engine, great handling (once you learn to throttle steer into the turns) and great stopping power with massive disc brakes. Lightweight at only 2700 pounds, this car is like driving a steroid powered go-kart.Oct 02, 2013

The 86 911 just keeps appreciating, and based upon the cost to buy a new 911, it's no wonder why. What I like about this car is how simple it is. It's a visceral car, with manual steering and sublime brakes and go cart like handling. It's smaller and lighter than today's 911's not nearly as fast, and yet, I find myself driving it more than my other 911. That's just how good it is.Sep 06, 2013

Learn to drive this car and you start to appreciate why Porsche owners love the 3.2 Carrera.
This car can be driven at track speeds all day and then throw the helmet in the back seat and drive home. Yes there is maintenance, however the late 80's 911's are some of the best examples of Porsche air cooled 911's. Aug 19, 2013

First of the uber-Porsches. Fast and ferocious (can you say turbo-lag?). More performance than luxury. VERY reliable but Black cars sometimes live life in the paint shop for a host of reasons!
Learned to drive it at Sears Point (Bondurant's school) and then spent copious sums of money refining and race-proving this car. Best 911 I ever owned. In fact I'm going to quit with this review business:
1976 911S
1981 911 Targa
1989 911 Carrera Cabriolet
1958 Speedster replica w/240 HP 914 engine
1957 VW single cab Type2
1963 Ragtop (for sale)

I would change nothing on this car except upgrade radio. Car is fun to drive but must have a strong heart. Must be respective of the power and turbo lag. These cars seem to be appreciating over the last few years. Jul 10, 2012

No finer sports car out there for reliability, looks, and resale value. Air cooled Porsche's and 911s in particular are the most recognizable vehicle on the road and pure fun to drive. Ferdinand Porsche got it right with this car!Feb 22, 2012

I bought this car 12 years ago and it is truly my baby. She performs beautifully and has stunning looks that turns heads wherever I take her. She is completely original with the exception of a set of upgraded Porsche mags and a Sony sound system. Aug 13, 2010

This is my 4th Porsche and second 911SC. I love the way it sounds, responds, drives and is an art piece on wheels. It's a race car, what can I say. I'm a big fan of flat 6 engines too. Jun 21, 2010

Driving a Porsche 911 would have to be one the best driving experiences I have ever had, especially at the age of 18. There's nothing like driving a 911 with that boxer engine screaming behind your ears when the throttle is applied to the maximum. My short drive of one was enough to appreciate this car's fine handling dynamics, although when driving at the extreme limits, is not for the inexperienced driver as the rear end can catch you out.Aug 02, 2009

What more can be said; its a Porsche 911 !! Quality German engineering, classic looks, fantastic performance and depreciation proof. Believe it or not, its also quite reasonable to insure and run. Go on, treat yourself, you will not regret it!Jul 15, 2009

So much fun to drive, solid handling. Felt like it was
built by Zeus. Lived up too my expectations and more.
Beautiful sound. Could happily live with a Porky Targa,
I want to retire with one of these in my garage parked
up next to my Bugs. God Bless Ferdinand Porsche.

I strongly believe that Porsche put the P in passion. Everything they do is amazing, whether it be in style, build quality or straight up performance. The only problem with early model 911's is their tendency to leak a little oil from the engine, but can easily be fixed with a new gasket. I would recommend this car to anyone who has a passion for driving, for feeling like a part of the car itself. Really the only downside that ive seen is the cost. No matter what model,(other than the 914 or 912) you will pay out the ass for any service or mechanical parts u may need. But as the saying goes, and its true, Porsche. There is no substitute. this car is just amazing. i dont know of any other car of my dads that has supplied as much fun as this one. its extremely quick. it runs out of gear pretty fast once you get over 100, but if your taking this car fast on a straight road you aren't doing it justice. this car is made for the turns. forget about speed.Aug 03, 2008

I really miss this car. It was classic Guards Red. One of
the best handling cars I have owned (especially after a
few choice suspension mods). It was a car I had
always wanted. She was at home in the twisties, and
on the track. The only car I've ever had that I took out
"just to drive).Jul 15, 2008

Although I had to sell it when I left California, I'd recommend a 911 to anyone. Besides being bullet-proof, turning heads and having great performance, it gave me good fuel economy when I wasn't lead-footing it and best of all, even after having owned it for about 6 years, I sold it for pretty much the same price I bought it for!Jun 25, 2008

To experience this true animal you have to drive the older models. The raw sound of the engine and the sensitive clutch/ gear shift can only be a Porsche. No other sportscar has the distinct sound of the engine upon ignition. What Harley Davidson are to motorcycles is what Porsche is to sportscar. It will remain true to it's name.Mar 29, 2008

Classic 911 with SC flares and the bulletproof 3 liter engine. Finished in Lapis blue with black leather. I bought it myself in LA last fall. Rustfree beauty with classic lines.Jan 12, 2008
