I owned a 1964 Chevrolet Impala 2-door hardtop, midnight blue, from 1964 (new) to about 1975. Automatic, v8, 327(?). The most beautiful car in the world still. May 08, 2022

Impala and me. Photo taken in 1968. This car was a nice piece of work, styling wise. I was not impressed with the power. However, it did have an A/C, factory installed. I had this car in high school, and enjoyed the "status" that it provided.Nov 22, 2013

I found this jewel just browsing and had to make an offer. I would have haggled for it but the price was such a bargain I would have been crazy to not jump on it. Awaiting West Side touch then done deal.Jun 23, 2013

Great car rare convertible super sport 4 speed. Big mistake selling this one! Mine had some rust issues but parts easily available Mine was totally restored. I replaced the springs and exhaust system. Roomy even with buckets. Mine was blue black top black interior SS car. I have not seen another with a 4 speed always automatics. This is boxy I also had a 63 prettier but not a SS Vert!Apr 18, 2011

Really just our car show car, even though it could use some cosmetic attention. 327ci engine under the hood, 2 speed transmission and is fun to drive when you want to show somethin off. Not really somethin i would race with but its always nice to cruise every once and a while. Its old, and requires repairs every once in a while. Looks good when your lookin at it from a distance, but it has some minor imperfections than hav accumulated recently.Oct 27, 2010

the headliner of these year of cars had tiny stars throughout, the engine is a 283 cu.in.,transmission is a 2sp automatic that could be shifted manually, like taken up to 50 miles an hour before shifting to 2nd and it didn't hurt the transmissionAug 14, 2010

I have always loved the 1964 Chevrolet Impala. What a great classy car especially the two door hard top. I am lucky enough to have bought mine from the original owner and the car is in show room condition without ever being restored. If you are looking for a great cruiser--keep the 1964 Impala in mind--you will be pleasantly surprised and turn many heads when you drive down the street. Mine is a head turner each time I drive it--It is much more popular that the 1964 Ford Galaxie and parts can be found very easily.Mar 25, 2010

Its a classic. What can you expect. Big Block Chevy motors have lots of power and can handle themselves on the streets just fine. The only problem is that they dont turn all that well. More of a straight line kind of car.Oct 08, 2009

well the car is rusted out supported on bricks sitting behind a shed on a farm, it has no interior, no wheels, it is the rusted shell of of a once brilliant car. so no acceleration, it looks rusted, but it doesn't cost me anything so its ok i guessSep 29, 2009

This pure white SS convertible was unbelievable. Somebody had dropped a 345 horse Corvette, Muncie 4 speed and 4.11 limited slip differential into this car. It had the Duntov cam with that beautiful whump, whump, whump sound. It still had 283 powerglide emblems on the side so everbody, even Ramblers, wanted to race me...beat them all!!!Feb 07, 2009

This was my very first car.... I loved it minus the x style frame that was rusted away when I bought it. Now I have the welding skills, too bad I don't have the car anymore. Ah, the sweet memories.Jan 16, 2009

My dad taught me how to drive a stick on this car. Very intimidating considering it was his baby. At the time I started to drive it, it had a 396 under the hood. Now it has a 454 and is my baby.Jan 01, 2009

It was the only white exterior with red interior car that my immediate family owned. I earned my driver's license in this one. Three little tail lights on each side first appeared on the 1960 model and then on the 1961 model.Apr 12, 2008

My great grandfather bought this in 1965. It currently has 75,000 original miles. It's in decent shape. needs interior restoration and could use a new paint job and re-chrome the bumpers. Also needs new heads and exhaust and the engine should be overhauled..... well I guess we just need to fully restore it.Mar 04, 2008

Excellent car. Highly encourage anyone to go for the power brake setup. 400ci s/b with 400turbo tranny makes a great deal of power as well if built right. Not a big fan of the 283ci with the original 2 spd powerglide however it's not bad considering the time it was built.Feb 15, 2008

Amazing acceleration - scary handling and stopping. had the 348 tripower triple carb setup on it and it made all sorts of loin-tingling noises when you tromped on itJan 04, 2008

Extremely cool car. So- so power, ok handling, but pimp one of these, you get a totally cool lowrider with style and classic looks to match.Dec 24, 2007

The 1963 Impala was the high water mark for all of the full-size Chevy's. It offered performance for practically any sized wallet and then some. I just would like to know what happened to the 427 STREET V-8 that seemingly so few people knew about.Jul 26, 2007

Owned a 63 409 SS for 18 yrs and sold it. Biggest mistake ever made. I am now restoring a 63 Chev SS 409 to what I had before, if not a little bit better. I loved the looks of the car when it first came out and still think it's the best design they ever had. If Chevrolet still had the design people they had back then, Chevrolet would still be producing full size cars. The toy cars they are producing now are not worth the money....Jan 09, 2007

We have been having minor problems with this car as far as the carbuerator probably needs to be rebuilt and I believe we need new head gaskets. This car is so unbelievable when it runs!!! This car was bought by my Great grandfather in 1965 and then by my father when he passed away.Oct 13, 2006
