2008 Ford Edge Reviews, Pricing & Specs

The car was in really bad condition so it was an ABSOLUTE NO. I then decided to drive another Edge ( 2014) they had on the lot which I loved but thought was way too expensive for the year & milleage so I took it to a Ford dealer to have it looked at and it was completely rotted underneath, the air conditioner was broken along with SEVERAL other issues that would have had me sitting on a very expensive lemon. I do not recomend this dealership as there was no way they didnt know of all the issues with this car. Spending $180 to get the car checked out saved me THOUSANDS of dollars. Buyer beware! I initially and still do like the styling and ride height of the vehicle especially with the 20 inch wheels. It has the ability to safely accelerate to highway speeds for merges and passing on two lane roadways. The breaking is good and it required very little other than the usual oil changes and maintenance. I loved the Vista roof and the sun shade which operates with no effort to keep the car cool on those hot summer days. It is easy to enter and exit the vehicle due to the height without being so high that it needs some sort of running board or step device to get in. I purchased the car brand new and it currently has 102,000 Kms on it.Jun 23, 2014

We have three children ranging in age from 12 to 7, and we absolutely love this car! There is enough room for all five of us to go on a road trip comfortably. Mine is a light blue color and I get so many compliments on it. I wish it was a little bit better on gas, with the prices almost reaching $4 a gallon right now, but the handling and performance of this automobile more than makes up for it. I think it accelerates well and I definitely feel safe when I am driving it. All in all, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a stylish and comfortable family car.Sep 17, 2012

This vehicle is fun to drive. Its not a sports car, but the controlability and handling is pretty remarkable. Smooth and strong, this SUV makes a any driving situation a pleasure. There is quite a bit of space inside and you feel safe behind the wheel! I appreciate the quick response upon acceleration when needed. The options and accessories available make the the lincoln MKX seem glorified!Aug 20, 2009

I have a 2008 SEL and find it to be a great car except for two things. You should drive any Edge near dark and after dark to check the readability of the dashboard. my 2008 is very poor- very hard to read. Also the low beams are rather weak . not a fun car to drive after the sun goes down. Ford dealers could do nothing to help. Lets hope the 2010 has improved but you should check it out first.Jul 23, 2009

Performance- acceleration: it's got some get up and go for it size. braking: took a little getting used to, not bad though. handling: fairly decent, i don't really remember Build Quality- built ford tough :P Appearance- Interior: veryy roomy, love the reclining backseat, love SYNC, the steering wheel has everything you need, unless of course you're my dad and you just HAVE to do it the hard way, the seat are very comfortable (try a 6 hour drive to the middle of nowhere, oklahoma), love the two-tone stitching, the camel leather looks nice, black is nice too though. Cost- gas: ouch, 20 MPG average; got 25 on the way to a tourney in norman two years ago. maintenance: wouldn't know. Fun Factor- between the nice styling, the radio, the seats, and the get up and go, it's very fun; one of the few automatics i would ever consider owning. Dec 30, 2008
