an old model but has potential to be a good car if you invest in lots of repairs.
These older models with high mileage will need complete front end replacement like struts, motor mounts, wheel bearings and most probable cv axles , so your looking at an additional $2500 for these repairs then you got to focus on the transmission thats another 15-18 hundred dollars...
These older models are not burden with a lot of Computer stuff so thats a Big Plus...
So I rate these vehicles 2 ⭐s with a potential 4 ⭐ with all the repairs...
If gas mileage was better then Id give it 5 ⭐sMay 15, 2022

I think this is a great vehicle. Very reliable and comfortable. Easy to maintain and drive. Navigation is very accurate and it is a very versital vehicle. It's at its best onThe highway. It really drive smooth on the highway. Mar 21, 2015

Th 2003 Honda Pilot EX-L is a great all around family vehicle. We used it for commuting, school pickup/drop off and family vacations. Very roomy with fold down seats for trips to the local home store. Not the most stylish vehicle, but definitely reliable.Jul 26, 2014

If you want an SUV for hauling stuff and still be comfortable on a 400 mile drive, the 2003 Honda Pilot was a good choice. I am sure newer Honda models are even better. How can an you argue with 313,000 miles and still humming along?Jun 19, 2014

Had this pilot for 8 years and it's been great for us. We use it camping, long trips, around town, and for some off-road. We bought it with 95k miles and it has 183k now. Very little maintenance costs or problems.Apr 06, 2014

Felt very safe in the Pilot. Great vehicle for taking on a trip. Would recommend highly to anyone looking for a great family vehicle! I would probably drive it into the ground, but I'll get there before this SUV does!Feb 13, 2014

There is nothing to dislike about this car. It looks great, it is a great family car for hauling the kids with all their equipment and the rear fold down seating (3rd row) is a bonus we have used many times. It may be a little cramped for adults for a long trip, but not bad for short ones. The second row of seats is plenty roomy. Good driving in all weather. Extremely reliable car.Feb 22, 2013

The only thing that I do not like are the front seat headrests as they do not adjust. The drivers side has a power seat and the passenger side is manual. The second row of seats have a slight recline that is nice. There is good leg room in the middle row and not so much in the third row. The V6-240 horse power has adequate acceleration and I was very pleased with the gas mileage. It is a midsized SUV that you feel that you are in control of.Dec 17, 2012

This car is comfortable on long trips. Can swallow 4' x 8' sheets of whatever. Is generally very reliable. What I don't like is that Honda knows this transmission has a built in design flaw. I've had mine repaired rather than let Honda put the same thing back in. It has a solid look and feel to it.Mar 30, 2012

Strong V6 acceleration and it's a Honda for those that don't want an Oddysey. Although my oold Civic Si and EX handled immensely better, they were both stranded in the driveway when it snowed. I don't miss that steep, winding sloping cul du sac whatsoever...Jan 26, 2011

Handles well in bad weather may roll in turns
Nicely styled
Lasts forever but maintenance is high

Honda Pilots are well known as vehicles that
are well built and perform better than most of
their SUV competitors. Better acceleration and
ride; better fuel economy. Better repair
history. Consistent styling that allows an
older model to retain its value. An SUV is NOT
expected to be fun to drive - but this sure

This car is simply amazing!! Has great pickup on he road!! I havn't ever had any problems with this car, just the normal oil change and tires. It has great gas mileage! It pulls my trailer great, and my boat. The Dvd player in the back is nice on trips to orlando and tennessee, it keeps everyone quiet. the AWD is nice cause I don't have to be shy in the mud!! Great car on snow, rain, dry roads. Steering is tight and responsive. Excellent pickup and rides well at high speeds on the highway. It drinks gas like it's .25 a gallon. Great for hauling the whole family as you can fold down the seats to fit 8 or hide them away to have a huge compartment for moving your best friends.Apr 08, 2010

My daily drive. Bought it new in 2003. After 9 years I have 95,000 miles on it. My second Honda. The first one was a small motorcycle many, many years ago. AWD which I rarely use. Occasionally it would come in handy when was out in field at work and off the beaten path. I have been in pretty goey mud where the tires picked up a 2 inch or so layer, but I did not get stuck - very lucky.Mar 23, 2010

Peformes well, brakes excellent. Quick start and stop. I feel very safe with children. Auto 4WD is awesome!! What else can I say? It's nice to have the back seat with their own controls, like the hauling space in the back, where the seats fold down.Aug 17, 2009

This vehicle comes with a stock 240hp V6 engine. It has eight seats and comes with auto climate control, towing hook and a outside temperature gauge. The pilot has a 6 disc changer and a dvd player too. I love it!!Jul 27, 2009

A real solid SUV from a reputable car company.
Performance - Better turn radius than a car! Takes corners easily at 50km!
Cost - No maintenence required. (Except the Check Engine light)

The performance and quality of this car is unmatched to other domestic cars both in acceleration, braking and fit and finish. The gas mileage and maintenance is not expensive as repairs are not frequent. Fun car to drive around in.Jun 11, 2009

I like that is get the best gas mileage in it's class. It also has and amazing amount of room for it's class and the third row seat was one of the first of it's kind. It's very comfortable. As for dislikes. It has many blind spots and it's turning is a bit funky (hard to explain) put over all this has been and excellent car. Dec 08, 2008
