This car is fun to drive, it has power.Other than normal maintenance it does not cost
me a lot of money to maintain .
Had MAZDA come with a solid wheel hubcaps, and uses 87 octane gas, I would
give the will a passing mark of 100
This car of mine has giving me more than 12 years of coninous service.

blind spots are a minimal worry, proformance is better than expected, car looks great!, all and all... this car is the best purchas i've made since college classes. i would highly recomend this car to anyone thinking about getting one.Dec 29, 2011

one of the best cars ive owned. brakes and tires is all ive put into this car till it hit 200 K. them i gave it a new timing belt. its a gas to drive, stopswhen i want it to and goes good for a 4 banger.i DO NOT drive this car easy and still get 30 + miles per gallon. i intend to drive the wheeles off this thing !Oct 19, 2010

i bought it and it looked in good condition. The rockers were rusted but other than that, Dana fixed everything so i'm happy.It's gold and it has a sunroof, keeyless entry, a/c, power windows and locks. It's an automatic.May 16, 2010

This car handles very well at high speeds and cornering , For a 4cyl 2.0 it can really get up and go reaching a nice 6,500 rpm's at redline , I only wish that the Es model had the same turbo setup as the mp3 protige, if I decide to keep this car down the road and have the money I will completely convert this car into a stage 2-3 mp3 ; ) Mar 31, 2010

The es version is very well put together, the sport suspension that is easily upgraded, quailty brakes and a very quick car. The 2.0 engine has extream mid band power but nothing eles around it because of mild cams and a computer that holds back the power(easily changable). The car is so much fun to drive it has 150k and i beat the crap out of it everyday and it just takes it, with a aftermarket ecu the gas mileage isnt as good but it still gets around 20Nov 04, 2009

i like it it has great acceleration and handles like its driving on glue. very light. very fun to drive as it is a 5 speed manual. inexpensive to insure and buy and mods are frairly reasonably priced. looks good with slight modification. i dont like the stock kit, but with side skirts front lip and rear valence, very nice.Sep 14, 2009

It looks good, handles decent, but its slow! not many good
performance parts available, gas milage is great though, cost
of ownership is not cheap but not too expensive, often
mistaken for a damn subaru impreza. Winter handling is

This car was also a numbered car, they were either blue or
orange the power in this car wasnt the greatest it had 145 hp
but 101 hp to the wheels it was great on the hwy but crap out

This car is average. It is not the best. It won't make you cool but neither would it embarrass you. Performance is okay. The appearance is fine with me. These kind of stuff are pretty subjective. So, yea, overall, I give it a 3.5/5. :DJul 18, 2009

The car has been great for the last 4 yrs.
I bought it when it was 4 yrs old. Only thing's I've had to replace were a coil pack, spark plug wires, and intake manifold gasket. The dealer told me it was bad. Ended up getting it fixed for free. Great car overall. Love the body styling. Great power for what it is. 2.0 engine in a manual is fun to drive!
One downside is the bottom of the front doors is starting to rust. Not sure if it's a manufacturing thing or not.Jul 11, 2009

-Unique style, color (laser blue) back to the year 2001.
-First car in North America that comes with a stock MP3 head unit. Also comes with Kenwood amp and subwoofers.
-Limited production, only 250 ever made and sold across Canada.
-Made in Japan.
-Lack of power (2L N/A), but good on corners with Tokico Shocks and Racing beat Springs.

Accelerates well. Gets about 27 mpg. Handles quite well... hugs curbs. I haven't need to do many repairs on this car. Fairly inexpensive to maintain. I love driving everywhere we go. It is a nice car, but wish I would have bought the MP3 version.Jun 18, 2009

Above average exterior and interior styling
Decent performance
No major repairs, except for a window pane that did not roll back up, and a fuse in the AC system that blew.
Gas mileage so-so, does not match EPA
Definitely a fun car to drive!

performance - 0-60 in roughly 5s.
Custom built Cold air intake. 1.6l v4 FWD.
Handling- great handling... breaks need a little work. Green outside base coat with a tan interior.
Painting exterior black and custom dying the interior myself. Home made hydrogen fuel cells installed... roughly 58-60 mpg. soon getting a kl-ze shipped in with a tranny rebuild.Jun 06, 2009

Fantastic work car. Gets good mileage with a low-geared transmission (designed for the smaller engines available). All the basic extras, handles well for a FWD, alloy wheels, etc. My first car with a sun roof, although its a small sunroof. The factory CD player has issues with skipping, but that's really my largest complaint.Aug 02, 2008

Unique, Only 1000 others like it. Not the quickest but it handles pretty well. Its overall a fun car to own. It hasn't been the worst to maintain. Its great in the snow. My bridgestone blizzaks are the best. I have owned it for four years now and can't complain too much. Jul 23, 2008

Well.. I love the car for that fact that its so reliable.. I've rarely had a problem with it and when I did it was something simple.. Like the seatbelts get stuck in the back all the time. Other than that its aq wonderful car.. Small.. Great on fuel.. The only thing I dislike would be the fact that its totally a mom-mobile. Not your average car for teens. But oh well. This was an alright car at best.
Performance.
Braking: good good response
Handling: very good, turns like it's on a track
Acceleration: good, beats most 4 bangers I've seen out there
Build quality: bad, as you can see from the picture above, this was a 20 mph crash and the radiator/intake had completely been destroyed

This car is tuned by racingbeat with an aftermarket suspension. Stock with 17's and 7-speaker system. Runs off a 2.0l 4cyl engine with advanced timing to put out only 140 hp which is probably its biggest shortcoming. Other than that it handles like a dream and is fun to drive. Mar 31, 2008

I bought this car brand new in Feb. 2001-now has a whopping 23,000 miles on it. The 130 hp. engine is very strong. It corners on a dime and gives you a nickle back. I've put Toyo tires (low profile) on it to maximixe handling. This car was built in Hiroshima, Japan. Will probably keep for the rest of my life.Feb 05, 2008
