i dis like the use of space inside by the manufacturer. dash could have been smaller, front seats could have moved forward for more overall space. engine compartment very easy to work on. plenty of "out of the hole power".Jan 03, 2013

well one dodge sucks, the handling sucks, the gas mileage is good, but that type of car is just not a good car to drive around in. I hate that car, brought me more trouble than I ever needed, just hope to see it gone soon, and I mean real soon. When I first bought it, it needed repairs, cost me some paychecks, really was unhappy then, still unhappy now, it's still registered but insurance is off of it, I have the title and key to it. Some day the brakes will need to be done to it. Mar 20, 2012

Great car. I've owned it for 12 years now and she's still running great. It makes surprising good power from it's tiny 2.0L SOHC engine. Fuel economy is great. At 70 to 72 MPH it gets 40+ mpg, in town it gets about 25 mpg. The handling is incredible. It is an absolute blast to drive. Even after all these years it still puts a smile on my face to just look at this awesome little machine.Jun 12, 2010

i love this car. driving this car is like driving a go cart. it could use a few mods to help it run better. tough little car has takin everything i have thrown at it like a champ. couldn't ask for a better car. i wish i hadn't have sold it.

Kind of poor on build quality. engine is noisy and protests being pushed but gas mileage is decent with the 5 speed manual tranny. Handling is pretty decent for a compact car but could be better with the sport trim.

El auto más veloz que he tenido.
Swap de motor 2.4, árboles crane 0018, escape directo, coilovers y barras en la suspensión, muy ligero de planta.
Listo para Track day, aceleración respetable, curveo impresionante, apariencia deportiva, super divertido y lo mejor NO usa turbo, todo el poder lo obtiene de su motor naturalemente aspirado. jajajajajaDec 02, 2009

I drive a 96 Neon. It has a full bodykit. rims, custom interior, intake, and aftermarket headlights and taillights. I've put over 6 thousand dollars into it and have had to replace the engine and transmision. Its the greatest neon in the worldOct 13, 2009

the overall performance of my car is incredible i think the car is one of the best commute cars availible it is pretty peppy i have the sohc and 5 speed tranny it works wonders and one of the most smooth shifting cars i think there is.Oct 09, 2009

For being a little 2.0 four cylinder, it picks up pretty quick. Mine right now can do 0-60 in a bout eight seconds. the engine rattles just a bit, but im fixin it pretty soon i have done aftermarket cosmetics to it, so it looks good now. the gas mileage is decent, and it was cheap to buy to begin with. i like driving it overall.Sep 13, 2009

The perfomance is shoddy, the car needs a good tune
up. As for quality, see above. The appearance is not bad
at all, but it is a COMPLETE gas hog. I enjoy the car for

soo this car has 155xxx miles on it with a garrett t3 turbo venom 27 lb injectors 3 inch exhaust allot of cool stuff it hulls nadds if it isnt runnin to heavy and it leaks some oi need to fix that Aug 05, 2009

Good handling, accelerates fast, good braking. it hasn't needed repairs, my a/c just needs to be recharged...my brakes squeak a little. its really a nice looking car, inside and out. it gets really good gas mileage and is really easy to maintain and fix. it's really fun to drive as well.Jun 21, 2009

This car's main use is to get me back and forth between school and work. It doesn't have much horsepower. But I guess that's how it gets dang near 40mpg. The front seats are not very comfortable for long trips. The stereo is less than acceptable. Braking and handling are around average for an economy car. Overall, this car is decent as long as you can get it cheap.Oct 21, 2008

It's performence is great, allthough I've just had some problems with left front tire.. it's "bumping" kinda like bike with a x'cing tire. it has high speed, just need to put a bit more horses in it. It's really "nice" to drive you get pressed back in the seat when stepping on the gaspedal. witch I'm really good at.Aug 25, 2008

It is one of the easiest cars to drive, besides its youthful design. It accelerates steadily and is easy to custom. Yet I think the alarm system could be more efficient :) And as a tall person... I can say that the space is incredible, I never had problems with height and length of the seat, nor the steering wheel!Aug 21, 2008

It was my first car and unfortunately I only owned it for about a month before I totaled it. Very spacious inside and had decent power for what it was. I know a lot of people have problems with Neons, but I was lucky to have bought mine from a family who took good care of theirs. Jul 16, 2008

Cheapest car on the road. Cheapest to fix, gets 10mpg on the race track.
Loads of room, all my tall friends have no problems getting in and driving.

I have driven many vehicles over the years and by far, my 96 Dodge Neon Highline is the best overall. It has been economical, fast responding on acceleration and low maintainance since I purchased it - used. I never had any handling issues and it averaged 30-40 mpg (averaging 300 miles per tank). The rear seat area is roomy and therefore very few arguments were noted regarding: space shared by siblings. Although it may be a little cramped under the hood, making it somewhat difficult for the Sunday mechanic to work on I am still a very satisfied Dodge owner.
