cavalier was and still is to me a great car all be italot be rust buckets if yu can find a decent gsi or decent turbo your onto a winner
very comfortable car to drive all beit very old and basic on the inside these days compared to others the seats will rival most modern family sport saloons
extremely good on fuel
the f20 box was a bit disapointing in the 2.0 range as it was set up for accelartion rather than speed

Performance - acceleration, braking, handling = Was ok decent 2.0l engine but
too much understeer
Build Quality - has it needed repairs? squeaks/rattles = Massive let down
Appearance - both interior and exterior styling = Typical poor 1990's english
interior
Cost of Ownership - gas mileage, maintenance = Maintenance was very good
cheap parts , mileage average.
Fun Factor - is this car fun to drive? = Was fun if you wanted but get it on the
banger track for some good times.Nov 17, 2010

The Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 16v SRI is in my opinion a force to be reckoned its one of the few cars that can have the clutch replaced with the gear box still in place. Ok were not talking about the same league as mitsi evos or scoobys but for a strong torquey all round contender the cav is brilliant 150 bhp as standard although the engine is very simplistic by todays standards it shows up many cars on the road from hot hatches to turbo diesels.Jul 28, 2009

a genuine cav 4x4 turbo with 140k on the clock, its never needed a new turbo or clutch and has just returned from a 2000mile trip across euroupe with no problems to report. It is damn fast, bring it on scoobies and cossies, and it handles better than most things i've driven due to independant rear suspension, even when fully loaded! it needed a new battery tray last year but the rest of it is uncharictalisticy solid! the classic looks of a lowered cav saloon on 17's in the georgous spectral blue is always a pleaser! bet your scoobie dont do 32 to the gallon at 90mph? its cheaper to insure than a GSI too! I have had the car for 2 and a half years and it still makes me smile! And no, none of my friends can drive it... ever!!!!Nov 02, 2008

Unknown to many, very capable car of its day (92). Easily gives Subarus and Evo's a run for thier money. Keep on top of the dodgy 4x4 or strengthen the t/box and you'll be fine. The C20 LET engine has been known to reach 750 BHP! There a wolf in sheeps clothing!Aug 12, 2008

not a bad limited edition, dont know what the 1.8 is like as it has a c20seh fitted in its place, pulls well and never misses a beatMay 23, 2008

Hated it so much, agonising seat and rock hard suspension, insisted ted that it be changed for something more suited to my motorway based long distance saleman jobMay 13, 2008

It was my first car when I came to the UK. It was good, or rather, OK, all around. Drove well. Didn't have too much problem handling it and it was cheap to maintain, too. There's really nothing more to say except the fact that it's a proper car to drive.Mar 22, 2008
