"BEEF CAKE!" Last year of the solid axle Bronco, 400ci big block, T-18 trans, NP205 t-case 7" lift oin 35" Xtreme MTs on centerlines. Custom drive shafts, manual locking hubs, non-functional A/C and the heater dont work. But who cares. I live (and wheel) in So Cal!Nov 12, 2011

Not good on Gas, but, not why I built it. It does play nice in the mud. Looking to fuel inject it later and build some bumpers, might even paint it someday. Broncos have a great turning radius and can compete with the Jeeps.Dec 26, 2010

The 79 Bronco is a well built truck but does have a
few weaknesses. The 205 transfer case and dana
44 and ford 9 axles are built really well. The
weakness is the c6 transmission and possibly the
351m/400 engine. The engines are ok but I
swapped mine for a 460 out of a truck. The c6 has
only 3 speeds and could really use a fourth. Other
than that, the truck is great. It looks good with top
on or off, you can fit all your friends in it, take it
anywhere. A great plus is that if anything breaks
on it its easy to fix. Wish ford still made a bronco,
Id buy one.Feb 18, 2010

mine is currently in the restoration stages. so its not so pretty. as for performance, it would be amazing if it had a new motor int it. fun to drive? i pick the little cars out of my grill. this thing is built like a rock. downside though, gas mileage sucksAug 02, 2009

incredible handling, the ford bronco ranger xlt has the best appearance both interior and exterior but to much comsuption of gas. if you need to repair something that will last at least 5 years before needed again. YOU CAN FEEL LIKE A KING OF KINGS DRIVING THIS CARMar 30, 2009

This was my tank pretty much. It had a decent amount of torque, but overall speed it was slow. It had a 351M and a C6 tranny, stock overall except for the 3 inch lift. I loved to listen to the dual exhaust, it sounded throatty as hell. I loved driving it, and I would get tons of looks, cause girls usually don't drive vehicles like this, but my truck fit me to a T. This was sooo much fun to drive.....i loved it! We would drive it on the street, 4x4'in, pullin horse trailers, or snowmobile trailers or motorcycle trailers or boat trailers. It was a real work horse. The only thing that went wrong is that it kept eating rear ends....and it wasn't it's fault. It was HEAVY haulin almost all the time.Nov 19, 2008

This, my first Bronco, was a great truck to have. The only real down fall was the fuel economy. I had several great times working on this truck with friends, many memorable nights. We customized a glove box bracket to hold the cd player. I sold this truck to my older brother to get money to buy second bronco. He enjoyed the truck as well. Aug 23, 2008

This is a very nice truck. Im giving it the same rating as the F-150. This one hasnt been as reliable as the other one but is definately right up there. It has been beaten on by the previous owner. Very poorly taken care of. Now that its in my hands Its being babied. Lots of new parts and sheet metal. A little love goes a long way. Very cool truck with the top off!May 28, 2008

You must have some redneck attitude to own one. But if you have it and you're not too serious, few bucks will let you have a lot of family fun. Without worring too much for scratches and dents!May 21, 2008

This is my project truck. as you can tell its not even close to being finished. Its got a 351M engine, 33 Inch Thornbirds, and an automatic transmission. I also have a western snow plow for it. i have to finish running my breaklines, then it will be road worthy. Someday, I'd like to put in a 390 and a lift.Feb 19, 2008
