this truck is a pure off road vehicle. this truck get terrible mpg. it is fun to drive
through mud and water and what ever else you can find. it has good power and i

First of I have only put 100 miles on this truck since I bought it ,but for its age it drives great and has plenty of power. If you have to ask about gas mileage this is a truck not for you . The handling may not be up to par with newer trucks but it's a blast to drive .I would say if you can get one go for it, but be prepaired to spend some money keeping it on the road.
Update:
Drove it all summer ,like it even more . New wheels and tires. Been fun with the top off .Winter now and just got done installing a Preformer intake and a rebiult Holley 750 carb, cant wait for summer.Jan 23, 2012

I've owned this Bronco for 2 years now and no complaints. Rides great, on and off road, fun to drive, easy to work on. I would never get rid of it, even though it has be rolled and I can't get the top back on. Jan 11, 2012

I love this truck. Been in the family forever. Lots of money invested but with the proper head, cam, and intake setup these trucks can have a lot of power. Don't see many of these in good condition driving around anymore.Oct 25, 2010

It's big, mean and people get out of your way when they see you coming. It's fun to drive in the mud, rain, snow, whatever Mother Nature can throw at you. It'll pull anything and maneuvers like a mountain goat, a mountain goat on steroids that is. If you want to drive it every day, you're going to need to break open the piggy bank, cause it doesn't get much over 10 MPG, on a very good day. But the fun you'll have driving this monster is worth every penny.Sep 25, 2009

Flat out, one of my all time favorite vehicles to own and drive, nothing gets in your way and everything gets out of your way when they see you coming. Extreme amounts of power from the fully built 400M, complete with a mile Crane cam, Edelbrock intake, Holley 4bbl carburator and Hedman headers and true dual exhaust. The stock interior is complete except for a couple of hard to find seat trim pieces, but give me some time and I'll find them. Gas mileage is around 10MPG when tuned so you better not be on a strict budget, but it's worth every penny that you'll spend filling up the tank. The removeable top makes daytrips through the countryside a blast, just try not to get cought on a downpour, but even if you do, just let it air dry for a couple of days and you're good to go.Sep 25, 2009

My bronco is one of the old school broncos. It was built solid. It runs great and performs very well in any type of weather. I would reccomend this vehicle to anybody who likes to get wherever they want to go. Dec 09, 2008

Best Damn Vehicle Ever!...except fuel economy. Bought it from junk yard, rebuilt engine, wiring, and interior, had transmission rebuilt, very strong and powerful vehicle. A little rusty, and a lot of road noise, but by far my favorite truck ever...Survived a wreck into I-70 (not on I-70) into I-70. It's kinda like the energizer bunny, takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Aug 23, 2008

Well my brother actually owns the bronco, and so far he loves it. He has had to make some modifications to it, but considering that it is a 78... it was worth it. This truck goes thru mud like its nothin', and it isnt bad to look at either. Mar 21, 2008

I have a 78' Bronco Custom of my own, and its the toughest frame and body i've ever seen and drove 4-wheelin. i took it 4-wheelin a few months ago and accidently flipped it, it didn't hurt it or me a bit. barely even a scratch on the body! 351m/400 33.12-50 mud kings and a three inch lift. it will pull anything!Apr 27, 2007
