Excellent car. I have owned my SS since June of 1973. It has been a very dependable car, has left me stranded only once in 37 years. Gas mileage 18 on trips. The kids at school love my car. Many of them have asked to buy it from me since the late 70s. The car is medium blue with the SS stripes and black vinyl top. The car is very much fun to drive as it turns heads when seen.Feb 06, 2010

it would be nice with a supercharged 454 but the 350 will do for now, i might do some tuning this winter, also need new super fat wheels etcOct 17, 2009

You have to be a product of the 50's or 60's to really appreciate this car. It's considered a small car, by muscle car fans from that era; however, it's a 350 small block with a turbo hydramatic 400 transmission. Hw can you go wrong? It's simple to work on. I swapped the timing chain in 30 mins (yes, I said chain!) after it reached 270,000 miles. It's a great ride.Jun 11, 2009

The 73 Chevelle SS 454 was the last for two things, it was the last year for the SS package and the last year they put the 454 in Chevelle's. This Chevelle you are looking at is one of 1600 ever made in 73 with the 454 and if they have a 4 speed manual they are one of 600.Feb 24, 2008

I purchased the car in 1981 while in high school,I loved that car!!!Everyone knew me by my car. It has a 350 4bl 4speed manual transmission, it would fly. But after a marriage and 2 kids the car took a back seat in my life and has been sitting in the back yard for at least 10 yrs. It needs to be restored to its former glory!!! Owned my '73 SS from '79 - '85; 127k - 285k. A well balanced car at 140 w/ better rubber & bigger wheels; L60/15 on Z28 steel. No cash winning greyhound she be off the line w/ 273z, but had embarraseed many 1/4 cars over a buck w/ a never reaching horizon for finish lines. Swapped the header panel to the heavier steel-backed urethane one-piece Laguna, added Z28 stoneguards onto the wheel openings & the center section of the Z'z rear spoiler onto the trunk lid (nascar style); stealthed all of her Chevrolet identities except for the SS emblems & dressed her in Dupont 2000S Guards Red. A Vette L82 w/ 40k reaspired my SS in the Year of Belushi + headers & sidepipes. She was a fun ride at nearly 21 mpg, thanx to them 273z!Mar 05, 2007
