After 15 years of service I still love this car. It's been in the movie "The Big Blind" Dressed as a street rod and now dressed as a taxi. Having it dressed as a taxi has been great people do look and some comment. The fun comments come from those that think I shouldn't have done that to an old classic. What they have never heard of a wielder? Dec 30, 2012

It Is not a SS, Facebook does not offer any other Trim Options. It is a Malibu 350,
Not with the original 350- But it is build up w/2200 stall- TH 350 trans and 3.73 posi

Factory 402, super acceleration, handling is touchy, car was equipped for racing (never raced)so this is a car for someone who can control the power. Never been wrecked, only 73000 actual miles, always garaged. No rust anywhere, interior in very good condition, and this car is a ball to drive!Apr 17, 2011

Rebuilt to be a GO QUALITY not a SHOW QUALITY...we have enjoyed it much these nearly 6 years...WOW! The mild 350 is easy on the gas tank pockbook while mantaining the muscle! PLUS A/C adds to the modern day immenities!Jan 02, 2011

The reason i like this car so much is my dad and i did the restoration together, and that means a lot to me. A reason i dislike driving it is the only thing is cant pass is a gas station. lol. Oct 11, 2010

The Chevelle is need for speed! It can run in the low 11 second range in the quater mile traveling at 125 mph. This project was a lot of work but with the help of my daughter and my girlfriend it was very rewarding. And don't forget our dog Holley [named after the carburetor] who shakes every time she's in it!Aug 05, 2010

it is a great classic car actually the last year car to be considered a classic car. It is also in the muscle care era so has a lot of horsepower depending on hat size motor it has in it.Jul 08, 2010

First off the car is not an ss it is a Malibu but the only choices I had were "SS or I don't know". I just grabbed this baby the other day and will have it looking sharp in a couple of months. She runs and rides like a new 72. I drove it the other day because I had no choice and the guy at the parts store wanted to rip my head off! It was quite funny actually! I am the second owner and have all the original manuals, window sticker and everything else! Seriously this car rides nicer and smoother than my old 72 (owned in '89) ever thought of. She isn't a hot rod but the 350 does have some grunt to it but I am not in a race so I really don't care.Feb 27, 2010

I could and would make love to this car. THis car is the example of Perfection at Work. This is and was the greatest car ever created. It will now and always be better than any ford or mopar product. Don't ever mess with chevelle. Especially with a small block 572 at the heart of that beautiful body.Feb 18, 2010

454 big block. incredible torque, godly horsepower. with 80 plus horsepower under the hood after adding in a supercharger, this car can kick anyone's ass andnever breaks down. I've brought it to 160 and assume i could go 180+ with a blower on the front.Feb 13, 2010

The 72 Chevy Chevelle was a really nice car to own, except mine. it would always stall out on me and it was so hard to get it started. But once you got it started, nothing could stand in my way, until it stalled out again.Oct 07, 2009

I've owned the car since June of '99, started out as a grandmas car then a street/strip car, now its mostly strip. It has run a best of 9.988 @ 131.75 mph in the 1/4 mile. I bracket race the car weekly and I'm currently tied for 3rd in points.Aug 25, 2009

This car is a classic with a 350 small block (I know I listed it as an SS because Malibu wasn't an option). It's a restoration project of mine. Excellent styling and power, as well as luxury. An American classic for sure. Aug 12, 2009

1st car for $500. Only had a 302, 4-foor, green with a vinyl top that I had to keep gluing down. Ate a lot of gas. Manual drum brakes. Had lots of cancer. Tough as nails. Drove though the pothole streets of Mexico several times with ease. I loved it.Aug 11, 2009

There wasn't a choice for malibu so I opted for SS. Originally it was a 307 V8 Malibu, now has a built 350 smallblock with ceramic headers and flowmasters which sound awesome. I recently put a Holley commander 950-22s fuel injection system on it and that woke it right up. I bought it for my wife for Christmas in 2007, so it is technically hers :')Jul 23, 2009

i got it blown up i pulled out the blown 402 ci and 4 speed trans i only had 355 gears in the rear end so I rebuilt a small jouranl crank 1967 327 ci punched it 10 over to a 331 ci 11:1 compresstion full race cam work an rebuilt a turbo 400 auto with shift kit & 2500 rpm stall converter2.02 intake valve 1.94 exhaust valves angle plug heads ported polished and cc the heads. balanced the crankshaft ans rod and pistons. it was very fast about a 12 sec car in a 1/4 mile. it was so sweet some stalked it and stole it or I'd still have it Jul 11, 2009

Has a 5.3 vortec out of a '01 Chevy silverado and its backed by a 4L60E auto tranny out of a '03 silverado...it has 3:08 gears fixin to have 3:73s...it sucks because its a one tire fire, right now, but when we put that other rearend in it, It'll have limited slip...which will be better.Jun 06, 2008

The '72 Chevelle was the third and final year that shared the immediately recognizable body line that was introduced for 1970 Chevelle. Closely resembling the 1971, it carried over the dual taillights inset in the rear bumper, and the single headlights up front. Even lower horsepower still after the gas crisis in the early ‘70s, but that is easily fixed with some cheap and easy bolt on parts. This car is great for any Classic car lover who wants a fun reliable old car that has loads of aftermarket parts available all over the USA and Canada.Jan 28, 2008
