What should I look for when buying a used Nissan Pathfinder?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: ProPILOT Assist, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, rear emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, lane-departure warning, Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, and Intelligent Lane Intervention.
• Infotainment: Nissan's latest infotainment software on a wider 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus SiriusXM satellite radio and NissanConnect subscription-based remote services.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy reaches a Natural Resources Canada-estimated 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 9.6 highway, and 10.8 combined for Platinum models. The Rock Creek is estimated at 12 L/100 km city, 10.2 highway, and 11.2 combined.

Which Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder offers these trims:

• Rock Creek: The Rock Creek trim adds the 3.5-litre V6 with 295 hp and 270 lb-ft on premium fuel, plus all-terrain tyres and a rugged look; it suits buyers who want the most distinctive appearance and towing capability.
• Platinum: The Platinum trim adds the 13-speaker Bose audio system, head-up display, semi-aniline leather with diamond stitching, and the most upscale cabin presentation, making it the best-value choice for shoppers who want the richest feature set.

What Nissan Pathfinder do most buyers choose?

The Nissan Pathfinder years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2025.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare and a broader spread of prices and deal quality. They also sit close enough to the current generation to deliver the Pathfinder’s modern space, tech, and family-friendly layout.

What is the Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

Most Pathfinder model years are down by double digits year over year, which creates more room for used buyers to find value. The newer models are also seeing meaningful price movement, so recent inventory can be especially attractive if you want a later-year Pathfinder at a lower entry point than before.

The 2024, 2014, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Nissan Pathfinder safe?

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The 2026 Pathfinder has a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, or 295 hp and 270 lb-ft in Rock Creek with premium fuel, and fuel economy reaches 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres city, 9.6 highway, and 10.8 combined for Platinum models.
