What should I look for when buying a used Lincoln Navigator?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: BlueCruise, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, lane-centring assistance, post-collision braking, intersection assist, evasive steering assist, and Turn Signal View.
• Infotainment: Lincoln Digital Experience infotainment system with a 48-inch panoramic display and an 11.1-inch centre touchscreen control centre.
• Fuel efficiency: official Natural Resources Canada rating of 13.5 L/100 km in combined driving, with an observed fuel economy of 13.9 litres per 100 kilometres.

Which Lincoln Navigator trim should I buy?

The 2025 Lincoln Navigator offers these trims:

• Navigator Reserve: This is the base version and the best-value starting point for buyers who want the Navigator’s core luxury, technology, and presence.
• Navigator L: This longer version adds more cargo room behind all three rows of seats, making it the better fit if you regularly carry people and luggage together.
• Black Label: This top trim adds a more distinctive luxury presentation, and it suits buyers who want the most upscale cabin experience.
• Black Label Special Edition Package: This package adds blacked-out wheels and details for a more dramatic look, and it pairs with the Black Label trim.

What Lincoln Navigator do most buyers choose?

The Lincoln Navigator years with the most listings are 2023, 2022, and 2024.

Higher-listing years tend to draw more shopper attention because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right colour, trim, and price. They also often become the default search starting point when buyers want a balance of availability and value.

What is the Lincoln Navigator's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the model range, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The larger drops on several newer years suggest there can be meaningful savings compared with their earlier pricing. A few years have smaller declines, which points to steadier value retention within the lineup.

The 2019, 2021, and 2020 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Lincoln Navigator safe?

• 2025: 10/10
• 2023: 8/10
• 2022: 8/10
• 2021: 8/10
• 2020: 9/10

BlueCruise is standard on the 2025 Navigator and adds hands-free driving on approved roads, along with driver-signalled automatic lane changes and in-lane repositioning.

For the safest used buy, the 2025 model posts the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

Should I buy a used Lincoln Navigator now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2024 model is at −17.6% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −16.73%.
• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 22.4% good and great deals, and the 2023 model has 17.9%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2023 model has the most listings at a current average price of $70,654 CAD. The Lincoln Navigator offers a spacious, luxurious cabin with strong long-distance comfort and a commanding road presence.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Lincoln continues to use a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine in the 2025 Navigator. It makes 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, bolts to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and has a towing capacity of up to 3,950 kilograms (8,700 pounds) with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package and 22-inch wheels.
• Tech: For 2025, the Navigator adds the company’s Lincoln Digital Experience infotainment system with a 48-inch panoramic display and an 11.1-inch centre touchscreen control centre.
• Safety: In the 2025 Navigator, Lincoln uses BlueCruise 1.4, the latest version with driver-signalled automatic lane changes and in-lane repositioning to give large trucks traveling in an adjacent lane a little more room.
• Starting price: With a Canadian base price of nearly $130,000 (including the destination charge and other fees), the 2025 Lincoln Navigator is more expensive to start than the BMW X7, Cadillac Escalade, Infiniti QX80, Land Rover Defender 130, and Mercedes-Benz GLS.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
