How much does the Lexus RX cost in today's market?

Used Lexus RX prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Lexus RX's current nationwide average price is $43,203 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $39,446 CAD. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the Lexus RX is a strong used luxury SUV choice if you want comfort, refinement, and long-term appeal. The all-generations owner rating is 4.66/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the RX for its comfortable ride, quiet cabin, and upscale interior feel. Reliability is another recurring strength, and many shoppers also value the RX for its smooth, easygoing character and strong overall ownership experience.

Expert reviews rate the 2020 and 2022 models among the highest across all years.

Are Lexus RX models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the Lexus RX’s comfort, refinement, and long-term dependability as core strengths. The model’s quiet cabin, smooth ride, and upscale feel also come through repeatedly in owner feedback across the years.

• Owners rate the Lexus RX between 4.33 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a higher-mileage example without a clear service history, since condition and maintenance matter most as these SUVs age.

What should I look for when buying a used Lexus RX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a rear passenger safe-exit system, and parking proximity sensors.

Which Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lexus RX offers these trims:

• RX 350: The entry point uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and standard AWD. It suits you if you want the most accessible way into the RX lineup.
• RX 350h: This hybrid adds a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 246 hp and 233 lb-ft of torque, plus a CVT and strong fuel efficiency. It is the best-value trim for many buyers because it balances efficiency and everyday usability.

What Lexus RX do most buyers choose?

The Lexus RX years with the most listings are 2025, 2023, and 2024.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find a well-priced example. They also usually reflect the model years that shoppers are cross-shopping most actively.

What is the Lexus RX's resale value?

Most Lexus RX model years are posting price declines year over year, and several of those drops are double-digit. That pattern is helpful for used buyers because it opens up more value in recent and older model years alike. A few years are falling only slightly, while one year is moving up, which shows that demand remains steady across the lineup.

The 2021 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2015, 2021, and 2020 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Lexus RX safe?

• 2024: 7/10
• 2023: 8/10
• 2022: 8/10
• 2020: 8/10

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across all RX models.

For the safest used buy, the 2020, 2022 and 2023 models all post the highest confirmed score of 8/10.
