What should I look for when buying a used BMW X2?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: BMW’s standard safety suite includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, and lane departure warning.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display houses a 10.25-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by BMW Operating System 9 (iDrive 9), with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The X2 xDrive28i M Sport averaged 11.2 litres per 100 kilometres, and the official Natural Resources Canada fuel consumption estimate is 8.5 L/100 km in combined driving; the M35i is estimated to burn 8.9 L/100 km in combined driving.

Which BMW X2 trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW X2 offers these trims:

• xDrive28i: This is the entry point and the best-value choice for many shoppers, with standard xDrive all-wheel drive, the BMW Curved Display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the core safety suite.
• M35i: This is the performance-focused trim, adding the more powerful engine and the more athletic character buyers want if they value stronger acceleration and a more engaging drive.

What BMW X2 do most buyers choose?

The BMW X2 years with the most listings are 2025, 2026, and 2024.

Higher-listing model years usually draw more shopper attention because they offer more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right colour, trim, and price. They also tend to be the years where you can balance newer features with a broader selection of deals.

What is the BMW X2's resale value?

Most of the model years shown have moved down sharply over the past year, which can create better buying opportunities for used shoppers. The largest drops are concentrated in the older and recent-model-year entries, while the smallest changes are in the 2024 and 2022 entries. That pattern suggests you may find stronger value in several parts of the lineup right now.

The 2022, 2024, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
