What should I look for when buying a used BMW 2 Series?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system
• Infotainment: a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a wireless charging pad and Harman Kardon premium sound system

Which BMW 2 Series trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series offers these trims:

• 228 xDrive Gran Coupe: standard all-wheel drive, a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, adaptive dampers, and a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; best for buyers who want the most affordable current 2 Series Gran Coupe with strong standard equipment.

What BMW 2 Series do most buyers choose?

The BMW 2 Series years with the most listings are 2025, 2026, and 2024.

Higher-listing years tend to draw more shopper attention because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right colour, equipment, and price. They also often reflect the most current versions of the model, which helps keep demand strong.

What is the BMW 2 Series's resale value?

Most BMW 2 Series model years are down year over year, and several have seen double-digit drops. That pattern can work in your favour if you want a newer used example at a lower price than it commanded a year ago. The smallest changes are concentrated near the top of the table, where values have moved less sharply than the rest.

The 2024, 2017, and 2020 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the BMW 2 Series safe?

• 2025: 6/10
• 2022: 8/10

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes with standard advanced safety and driver assistance features such as forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system.

For the safest used buy, the 2022 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.
