What should I look for when buying a used Acura TLX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Acura’s advanced driver assistance systems, including automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning and road-departure mitigation, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, a wireless charging pad, and the True Touchpad Interface.
• Fuel efficiency: For the 2024 Acura TLX, Natural Resources Canada estimates fuel economy for the A-Spec trim at 11.3 liters per 100 kilometres in city driving, 8.1 on the highway, and 9.8 combined. In the TLX Type S, this figures go up to 12.3 L/100 km city, 9.4 highway, and 11.0 combined.

Which Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Acura TLX offers these trims:

• A-Spec: Canada’s base trim, with 19-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED fog lights, and SH-AWD; a strong value pick if you want the core TLX experience.
• Type S: Adds a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, 20-inch wheels, gloss black exterior details, quad exhaust finishers, adaptive dampers, and Brembo brake calipers for the most performance-focused version.

What Acura TLX do most buyers choose?

The Acura TLX years with the most listings are 2020, 2016, and 2019.

These higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they offer a wider selection and often sit in the part of the market where value and equipment line up well. More listings also make it easier to compare trims, colours, and condition before you buy.

What is the Acura TLX's resale value?

Most TLX model years are down by double digits year over year, which creates better opportunities for used buyers. The newer models are still seeing meaningful price drops, while the older years show smaller declines overall. That pattern suggests the TLX is offering solid value across much of its used lineup.

The 2016, 2019, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
