Used 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearKelowna, BC

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 6.5/10 from our experts. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out as a compact car that brings a more upscale cabin, stylish design, and a spirited driving experience to a segment that often prioritises practicality over personality. That makes it a strong fit if you want an affordable small car that feels more polished and rewarding behind the wheel.

The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, the back seat is cramped, and the technology feels dated. Even so, the Mazda3’s available all-wheel drive and refined road manners give it a broader appeal than many rivals.

31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 is presented as a well-built compact car with a solid underlying structure and a cabin that avoids creaks and squeaks. Its standard safety and driver-assistance equipment is broad, and the powertrain is described as adequately powered without sounding overstressed in normal use.

The Mazda3’s dependability story is helped by its straightforward mechanical setup and the fact that its infotainment system is easy to use, even if it is not especially modern. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is more about living with dated technology and a modest base engine than worrying about obvious durability red flags.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you the Mazda3’s upscale design and solid build quality, but higher trims add more premium touches and features. The top trim also brings a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, reverse automatic braking, adaptive headlights, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 186 horsepower as standard, while the GT trim can be paired with a Turbo engine that raises output to 227 hp on regular fuel or 250 hp with premium. All trims use a six-speed automatic in sedan form, and all-wheel drive is optional on GS and GT models.
• Safety package: i-Activsense is standard and includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, a driver condition monitor, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. The GT adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses an 8.8-inch display with a dial controller, while higher trims get a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available on higher trims, along with a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The base-engine sedan is rated at 7.8 L/100 km combined, with 8.8 city and 6.6 highway. AWD raises the combined figure to 8.1 L/100 km, and the Turbo engine increases it to 8.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 3 trim levels: GX, GS, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Mazda3’s core strengths: stylish design, a refined cabin, and standard i-Activsense safety tech. It makes sense if you want the Mazda feel at the lowest price, but it is also the trim most affected by the car’s underwhelming base-engine character and simpler technology.
• GS: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it opens the door to all-wheel drive and moves you closer to the Mazda3’s more polished personality. If you want the most balanced mix of features, traction, and everyday usability, this is the trim to focus on.
• GT: This is the pick if you want the most complete Mazda3 experience, with the available Turbo engine, more advanced tech, and extra safety and convenience features. It suits you best if you care most about performance, premium feel, and the fullest equipment list.

The GT adds the most advanced safety and convenience features, while the lower trims keep the standard i-Activsense suite.

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The Mazda3 sedan earns five-star ratings in all NHTSA evaluations, and the IIHS gives it its highest Top Safety Pick+ award with Good results in all crash tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

All 2026 Mazda3 models come standard with i-Activsense, which includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, a driver condition monitor, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. The GT adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking.

One caveat is that the adaptive cruise control can react late to slowing traffic, which may lead to harder braking than you would expect.

Should I buy a 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

Choose the 2026 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It keeps the Mazda3’s stylish cabin, engaging driving feel, and available all-wheel drive.
