New & Used 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearKelowna, BC

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out in the compact-car class by making a small car feel more upscale and more engaging than many rivals, with a cabin that can pass for entry-level luxury and styling that draws attention. It also offers available all-wheel drive, which adds versatility and confidence in winter weather or on twistier roads.

The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, the back seat is cramped, and the technology is dated.

With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 is presented as a well-built compact car with a solid underlying structure and a reputation for refinement rather than rough edges. Its performance notes also point to an engine that does not sound overstressed when pushed, which is a reassuring sign for everyday use.

Mazda also makes ownership easier with a straightforward infotainment setup and smartphone app connectivity, and the model’s competitive pricing helps keep the ownership equation sensible. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about living with its dated tech and modest base-engine performance over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is nicely finished across the range, but the base trim misses some of the richer equipment and convenience features found higher up. The GT brings the most upscale feel, including a head-up display and a surround-view camera system.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque on the standard setup, while the Turbo version on GT models raises output to 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on regular fuel, or 250 hp and 320 lb-ft with premium. AWD is optional on GS and GT models.
• Safety package: i-Activsense is standard and includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, a driver condition monitor, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. GT models add adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses an 8.8-inch display with a dial controller, while higher trims get a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included on higher trims, along with a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The base-engine sedan is rated at 7.8 L/100 km combined, AWD raises that to 8.1 L/100 km combined, and the Turbo engine increases it to 8.8 L/100 km combined. The base engine with the available manual averages 8.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 3 trim levels: GX, GS, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Mazda3 experience at the lowest price. It suits you if you want the styling, driving feel, and standard safety tech without paying for extras.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it opens the door to AWD and adds more flexibility without jumping all the way to the top model. If you want the Mazda3’s character with a better balance of price and capability, this is the one to focus on.
• GT: Choose this if you want the most complete Mazda3, especially the Turbo engine, the richer tech, and the added safety and convenience features. It is the trim to buy if you want the most upscale and most powerful version.

The GT trim adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking.

Is the 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 earns five-star ratings in all NHTSA evaluations, and the IIHS gives it a Top Safety Pick+ award with Good scores in all crash tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard i-Activsense suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, a driver condition monitor, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. GT models add adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking.

One caveat is that the adaptive cruise control can react too late to slowing traffic, which may lead to harder braking than you would expect.

Should I buy a 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• The current Mazda3 still delivers a cabin that feels upscale and a driving experience that is genuinely engaging.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It blends quality, refinement, safety, and enjoyable driving dynamics.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the Mazda3’s style-and-fun formula, the 2026 is the straightforward pick. If you are shopping with price sensitivity first, the 2025 is worth a look because it keeps the same core strengths and may offer a better value on the used market.
