CarGurus Analysis: 2026 Lexus RX
Summary
- With 125 currently listed for sale and an average price of $68,810 CAD, 32.0% of 2026 Lexus RX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Why it stands out
The 2026 Lexus RX stands out as a luxury SUV that has built its reputation on comfort, refinement, and reliability rather than chasing the sportiest or most opulent formula in the segment. Lexus has long positioned the RX as a mainstream luxury choice for buyers who value a calm driving experience, and that approach has helped it remain a staple in the brand’s line-up. It also has a long history of strong resale values, which makes it appealing to used buyers who want something that should hold up well over time.
What makes this generation distinctive is the breadth of its powertrain choices and the emphasis on efficiency. The RX 350 uses a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, while the RX 350h hybrid is rated at 246 hp and 233 lb-ft of torque. The RX 500h shifts the focus towards performance with 366 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, and the RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid adds an estimated 60 kilometres of electric-only range. Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the range, along with blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear occupant alert, and safe exit assist.
There are trade-offs, though. Handling is still tuned more for comfort than excitement, and even the sportier versions are not especially sporty. The F Sport suspension also hurts ride comfort for only modest handling gains. Even so, the 2026 Lexus RX remains attractive because it combines a polished cabin, strong safety equipment, and a reputation for durability with fuel consumption figures that are competitive for the class.

Is the 2026 Lexus RX a good car?
The 2026 Lexus RX is a favourable used buy if you want a luxury SUV that puts comfort, refinement, and reliability ahead of sportiness or flash. It has long been a staple in Lexus’s lineup because it focuses on everyday usability, and that makes it especially appealing if you value a calm, polished driving experience over off-road ability or towing strength.
Its appeal is also helped by strong resale values, which can make the RX easier to justify on the used market even when it costs more than some rivals. For shoppers, the main trade-off is that it is not the most powerful or adventurous choice in its class, but that is also why many buyers seek it out in the first place.

That makes it a sensible choice if you want a premium SUV without the ownership uncertainty that can come with some more complicated or performance-focused rivals. For used buyers, the long-term risk is generally lower than average for the segment, especially if you prioritise a straightforward luxury SUV experience.
