New & Used 2026 Hyundai Palisade for Sale nearThunder Bay, ON

Is the 2026 Hyundai Palisade a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Hyundai Palisade earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a redesigned three-row SUV that aims to give you family-friendly practicality with more style than a minivan and nearly as much utility. The Palisade’s biggest strengths are its multiple powertrain options, great ride quality, and spacious cabin, which make it a polished choice if you want something easy to live with day to day. The trade-offs are that fuel economy lags behind top rivals and the XRT trim gives up some luxury features, so it is less compelling if efficiency or the most upscale equipment matters most to you. 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Hyundai Palisade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 Palisade is presented as a thoroughly improved redesign, and Hyundai’s focus on comfort, packaging, and refinement supports the impression of a well-sorted family SUV. Its standard V6 is described as quiet and refined, and the transmission shifts with authority in normal driving. Hyundai also backs it with a five-year or 100,000-kilometre warranty, which helps reduce early ownership worry.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that you should still watch for the usual wear-and-tear issues on a large, complex three-row SUV, especially if the vehicle has seen heavy family use or towing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Hyundai Palisade?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Preferred Trend trim gives you the core Palisade experience, while the XRT Pro adds off-road-oriented hardware but loses some luxury feel. Luxury and Ultimate Calligraphy bring more upscale equipment, so you should decide whether you want value, ruggedness, or the most premium cabin.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 287 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD in Canada. A hybrid powertrain is also available, with a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder and twin electric motors for a combined 329 hp and 339 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s driver-assistance suite includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with car, pedestrian, and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane following assist, driver attention monitoring, safe exit assist, and front and rear parking sensors. XRT Pro adds side parking sensors and reverse automatic braking, while Ultimate Calligraphy adds evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, plus standard onboard navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Ultimate Calligraphy also adds a 12-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: Most gas-only models are rated at 12.2 L/100 km city, 9.7 highway, and 11.1 combined. The XRT Pro rises to 14.3 L/100 km city, 10.6 highway, and 12.7 combined, while the hybrid is rated at 8.3 L/100 km city, 7.9 highway, and 8.1 combined.

Which 2026 Hyundai Palisade trim should I buy?

The 2026 Hyundai Palisade is offered in 4 trim levels: Preferred Trend, XRT Pro, Luxury, Ultimate Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred Trend: This is the entry point and the best place to start if you want the Palisade’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need. It gives you the redesigned cabin, standard AWD, the 12.3-inch displays, and the full base safety suite.
• XRT Pro: This is the one to choose if you want the most rugged version. It adds all-terrain tyres, more ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, recovery hooks, and off-road-focused tech, but it gives up some luxury features.
• Luxury: This is the best-value trim for many buyers because it adds the hybrid powertrain and brings in more premium equipment without jumping all the way to the top model. It also gets the tow hitch and surround-view camera system.
• Ultimate Calligraphy: This is the pick if you want the most upscale Palisade. It adds the most premium features, including the head-up display, integrated dashcams, upgraded driver assistance, and the most luxurious presentation.

Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist I is standard on all but the Ultimate Calligraphy, which gets Highway Driving Assist II with lane-change assistance.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai equips the Palisade with a broad standard safety suite that includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with car, pedestrian, and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane following assist, driver attention monitoring, safe exit assist, and front and rear parking sensors. XRT Pro adds side parking sensors and reverse automatic braking, while Ultimate Calligraphy adds evasive steering assist. Highway Driving Assist I is standard on all but the top trim, which gets Highway Driving Assist II with lane-change assistance.

One caveat is that the system’s cyclist detection was not perfect in testing, so you should still stay alert even with the driver-assistance tech engaged.

Should I buy a 2026 Hyundai Palisade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Choose the 2026 if: Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

• Choose the 2026 if: Hyundai redesigned the Palisade for this model year and added a new-for-2026 XRT Pro for buyers who want more dirt-road capability.

• Consider the 2025 if: It is the outgoing generation and can make sense if the deal is especially strong.

The bottom line: the 2026 Palisade is the better all-around choice if you want the newest design, the strongest feature set, and the most polished overall package. If you are mainly focused on price, the 2025 can still be a smart buy when you find a compelling deal on the outgoing model.
