New & Used 2026 Honda Pilot for Sale nearBarrie, ON

Is the 2026 Honda Pilot a good car?

The 2026 Honda Pilot earns a 7.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

That score lines up with what you get in practice: a midsize three-row SUV with a more truck-like look, a cabin that prioritises comfort, passenger room, and cargo space, and a familiar formula that already works well for family buyers. It also stands out with clever features in a crowded class, so you’re not just getting space — you’re getting a layout that’s easy to live with.

The main trade-off is straightforward: there’s no hybrid option. If you want a practical family SUV with lots of room and a conventional gas powertrain, the Pilot makes a strong case. If fuel efficiency is a top priority, you’ll want to look elsewhere.

With 29.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s at least some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Honda Pilot reliable?

The 2026 Honda Pilot is presented as a familiar carryover, which is usually a good sign for long-term dependability because you’re not dealing with a major mechanical rethink. Honda also keeps the formula simple with a single powertrain and standard all-wheel drive in Canada.

Its 3.5-litre V6 and 10-speed automatic are described as confident and adequate, and the SUV’s behaviour on the road is generally calm and predictable. The tech and cabin updates are evolutionary rather than disruptive, which also helps reduce ownership uncertainty.

Honda’s maintenance and ownership approach is straightforward here, and the Pilot’s practical packaging should make day-to-day use easy. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about accepting that you’re buying a conventional gas SUV without the efficiency advantage of a hybrid.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Honda Pilot?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Sport trim gets the essentials, but it misses automatic braking at low speeds and parking proximity sensors. Higher trims add more convenience and comfort features, and the EX-L is highlighted as a strong fit for most shoppers thanks to its removable second-row seat and front-row leather seats.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the same 3.5-litre V6 with 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. In Canada, all-wheel drive is standard.
• Safety package: All trims include Honda Sensing, with forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, a driver-attention monitor, a traffic-sign reader, and automatic high-beam headlights. All but the base Sport also get automatic braking at low speeds and parking proximity sensors.
• Infotainment: You get a standard 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel on all trims, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A wireless phone charger is reserved for the EX-L and above.
• Fuel efficiency: The Pilot is estimated at 11 L/100 km combined in the Sport and EX-L trims, 11.2 L/100 km combined in the Touring and Black Edition trims, and 11.8 L/100 km combined in TrailSport configuration.

Which 2026 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda Pilot is offered in 5 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, Black Edition.

Here’s the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Pilot’s core strengths without the extra cost. It’s the trim to consider if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the added convenience features found higher up.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for most buyers. It adds the kind of everyday upgrades that matter most, including front-row leather seats, a removable second-row seat, and the wireless phone charger.
• TrailSport: Choose this if you want the Pilot’s off-road-oriented outlier in the lineup. It also carries the highest fuel-consumption figure in the range.
• Touring: This trim adds a panoramic sunroof, premium audio, and a hands-free power liftgate, but the price jump is harder to justify unless you really want those extras.
• Black Edition: This is the top trim, aimed at buyers who want the most upscale presentation in the lineup.

All Pilot trims come with the Honda Sensing safety suite, but only the Sport misses the low-speed automatic braking and parking proximity sensors.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Honda Pilot?

Is the 2026 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2026 Honda Pilot’s crash-test results were not available at the time of writing, but the previous model was named a Top Safety Pick by IIHS and earned five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

All Pilot trims come with the Honda Sensing suite of safety features, which includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, a driver-attention monitor, a traffic-sign reader, and automatic high-beam headlights. All but the base Sport model also get automatic braking at low speeds and parking proximity sensors.

One caveat worth noting is that the forward collision warning can be a bit too sensitive, and lane-departure warning can also be sensitive if you drift near the lane markings.

Should I buy a 2026 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It adds a brawnier look, larger standard screens, and keeps the Pilot’s practical strengths intact.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It keeps the Pilot simple with standard AWD and a roomy, easy-to-live-with layout.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Pilot with updated styling and tech, the 2026 is the cleaner pick. If you’re shopping on price and mainly want the same roomy, practical family SUV formula, the 2025 is worth a close look.
