How much does the 2026 Genesis GV70 cost?

Prices have softened 8.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 140 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2026 Genesis GV70 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Genesis GV70 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Technology, and Safety.

It fits well if you want a compact luxury SUV that leans into stylish design, standard all-wheel drive, and a modern cabin dominated by a wide OLED display. The refreshed technology package gives it a more advanced feel, while the overall formula stays close to what has made the GV70 successful for Genesis.

The main trade-offs are poor ergonomic design and the lack of a hybrid option. Even so, the GV70’s strong market position and 19.3% good-or-great deal share suggest there are still worthwhile listings if you shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Genesis GV70 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GV70’s reliability case is helped by its established formula, standard all-wheel drive, and the fact that the refreshed model keeps the core structure and safety package intact while updating the cabin technology. The expert review also notes that the new software and safety systems have been comprehensively upgraded, and the available driver-assistance tech proved reliable in testing.

Genesis also includes five years of scheduled maintenance with concierge service, map updates, and more, which can reduce early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about whether you’re comfortable living with the GV70’s ergonomics and its relatively high fuel consumption for the class.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Genesis GV70?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard GV70 is available in Advanced, Advanced with Tech Package, and Prestige trims, while Sport models add a different look with a unique grille pattern, dark chrome moulding, 21-inch wheels, and carbon fibre trim inside. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment, while Prestige is the best-value choice if you want the richest feature set.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, and all-wheel drive is standard across the lineup. A 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 is also offered on the 3.5T Sport trim with 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: The GV70 includes forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, front and rear parking distance warning, safe exit assist, rear occupant alert, forward attention warning, and front, rear, and side parking collision avoidance assist. Genesis Highway Driving Assist II is also included, with capacitive steering-wheel hand detection.
• Infotainment: The cabin centres on a 27-inch OLED display, and the system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA updates, and an available 360-degree Surround View Monitor.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2025 GV70’s expected fuel economy ratings are 12.0 L/100 km city, 8.9 L/100 km highway, and 10.6 L/100 km combined with the four-cylinder engine, or 13.1 L/100 km city, 9.4 L/100 km highway, and 11.5 L/100 km combined with the V6.

Which 2026 Genesis GV70 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Genesis GV70 is offered in 4 trim levels: Advanced, Advanced with Tech Package, Prestige, and 3.5T Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Advanced: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core GV70 experience with standard all-wheel drive, the 2.5-litre turbo four-cylinder, and the refreshed cabin tech. It makes sense if you want the GV70’s style and technology without stretching the budget.
• Advanced with Tech Package: This is the trim that adds the most obvious everyday upgrades, including a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, real leather upholstery, larger wheels, and a long list of tech updates. It’s the best-value pick if you want a more premium feel without jumping to the top trim.
• Prestige: This is the most luxurious 2.5T choice, with an excellent Bang & Olufsen audio system, Nappa leather seating surfaces, a 16-way ergo driver’s seat, heated rear seats, and more. Choose this if comfort and cabin richness matter most.
• 3.5T Sport: This is the performance-oriented choice, with the larger twin-turbo V6 and a more aggressive character. It suits you if you want the strongest acceleration and don’t mind paying more for it.

The safety package is comprehensive across the lineup, and Genesis Highway Driving Assist II is part of the GV70’s broader safety story.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Genesis GV70?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you should have enough choice to compare listings without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 19.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 140 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $62,328 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Genesis GV70's resale value?

The current average of $62,328 CAD sits slightly below last year's $67,912 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you’re buying now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays competitive. A used GV70 that’s well equipped and priced near the lower end of the range should remain easier to move than one that’s overpriced relative to similar listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2026 Genesis GV70 safe?

The 2026 GV70 boasts a comprehensive package of advanced driver safety features that include forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, front and rear parking distance warning, safe exit assist, rear occupant alert, forward attention warning, and front, rear, and side parking collision avoidance assist.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Genesis Highway Driving Assist II adds capacitive steering-wheel hand detection, and the system was described as reliable in testing. The main caveat is that the refreshed 2026 model has not yet been crash tested, so its strongest safety evidence comes from the previous GV70’s Top Safety Pick+ result and the brand’s history of strong crash performance.

Should I buy a 2026 Genesis GV70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 19.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The refreshed model brings a wider OLED display, upgraded software, and a more modern cabin presentation.

The bottom line: If you want the newest cabin tech and a strong value story, the 2026 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting into a GV70 at the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2026’s softer pricing and updated interior make it the more compelling buy for many shoppers.
