How much does the 2026 Genesis GV70 cost?

Prices have softened 11.53% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 156 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2026 Genesis GV70 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 Genesis GV70 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Technology, and Safety.

The 2026 GV70 builds on a formula that has already been a strong seller for Genesis, and this refresh is aimed at preserving that success rather than reinventing the compact luxury SUV. Its appeal starts with stylish design and standard all-wheel drive, while the updated model also leans heavily on technology as one of its main strengths.

The main trade-offs are a poor ergonomic design and no hybrid option.

For buyers who want a premium compact SUV with broad market appeal, the GV70’s mix of style, standard AWD, and advanced cabin tech is a strong fit. The market also shows 23.1% of listings as good or great deals, which leaves some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Genesis GV70 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 GV70 is positioned as a well-equipped luxury SUV with a comprehensive safety package and a refreshed technology suite, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership. The expert review also notes that the advanced safety systems were reliable under testing, and the vehicle’s broad equipment list suggests Genesis has put real effort into durability and usability.

Genesis also includes five years of scheduled maintenance with concierge service, map updates, and more, which helps reduce early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about whether the vehicle’s complex technology and premium features have been properly maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Genesis GV70?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard GV70 is available in Advanced, Advanced with Tech Package, and Prestige trims, while Sport models add a unique grille pattern, dark chrome moulding, 21-inch wheels, and carbon fibre trim. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment, especially if you value the richer cabin and added convenience features found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The base 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder makes 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, while the 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 in 3.5T Sport trim makes 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard across the lineup, and the GV70 also offers Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Custom, and Terrain modes with Snow, Mud, and Sand settings.
• Safety package: The GV70 includes forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, front and rear parking distance warning, safe exit assist, rear occupant alert, forward attention warning, and front, rear, and side parking collision avoidance assist. Genesis Highway Driving Assist II is also included, with capacitive steering-wheel sensing.
• Infotainment: You get a 27-inch OLED display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA updates, customizable themes, digital gauges, available 360-degree Surround View Monitor, Genesis Digital Key, and fingerprint authentication.
• Fuel efficiency: The GV70’s fuel economy is described as some of the worst in its class, and the four-cylinder version is rated at 12.0 L/100 km city, 8.9 highway, and 10.6 combined, while the V6 is rated at 13.1 L/100 km city, 9.4 highway, and 11.5 combined.

Which 2026 Genesis GV70 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Genesis GV70 is offered in 4 trim levels: Advanced, Advanced with Tech Package, Prestige, and 3.5T Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Advanced: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core GV70 experience with standard all-wheel drive, the refreshed design, and the full safety and tech foundation. It makes sense if you want the GV70’s style and equipment without stretching to the pricier trims.
• Advanced with Tech Package: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, real leather upholstery, larger wheels, and a long list of tech updates for a relatively modest step up. If you want the sweet spot between price and luxury, this is the one to focus on.
• Prestige: This trim is for you if you want the more indulgent side of the GV70, including Bang & Olufsen audio, Nappa leather seating surfaces, a 16-way ergo driver’s seat, and heated rear seats. It suits buyers who plan to keep the SUV longer and want the richer cabin experience.
• 3.5T Sport: Choose this if you want the stronger twin-turbo V6 and the sportier trim-specific appearance and feel. It is the performance-oriented choice in the lineup, but it also carries the highest price.

The safety package is comprehensive across the lineup, so your trim decision mostly comes down to how much luxury, tech, and power you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Genesis GV70?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 23.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 156 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.53% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $61,421 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Genesis GV70's resale value?

The current average of $61,421 CAD sits slightly below last year's $69,424 CAD.

That price movement suggests the GV70 has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means sellers may need to be realistic about current market expectations. If you own one, the softer pricing trend can work against you in the short term, especially if you are trying to sell quickly.

At the same time, the GV70’s strong equipment list and premium positioning help support demand. A well-kept example with desirable trim content should still hold appeal better than a stripped-down luxury SUV with fewer features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2026 Genesis GV70 safe?

The 2026 GV70 boasts a comprehensive package of advanced driver safety features that include forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, front and rear parking distance warning, safe exit assist, rear occupant alert, forward attention warning, and front, rear, and side parking collision avoidance assist.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Genesis Highway Driving Assist II is also included, and it now uses capacitive sensors on the steering wheel to detect your hands. The system was described as reliable under testing, though there is some side-to-side movement within the lane while it is active.

The main caveat is that the refreshed 2026 model has not yet been crash tested, so the strongest safety evidence comes from the previous GV70’s results and the unchanged structure and safety package. That said, the available evidence points to a very strong safety profile for used buyers.

Should I buy a 2026 Genesis GV70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 23.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The refreshed model brings a very wide OLED display, upgraded software for the technology and safety packages, and subtle exterior updates that keep the GV70 feeling current.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date GV70 with the strongest tech presentation and a softer used-market price, the 2026 is the one to target. If your priority is simply finding the lowest possible entry price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2026 offers the freshest cabin and the strongest overall package.
